@Anxioushumanchels All it means is getting to the route of the bad thoughts
@Andrew The route of the intrusive thoughts is called ocd. My brain doesn’t work properly, scientists have done brain scans on people with ocd and found many abnormalities. I’m not choosing to worry or have terrifying thoughts, they get stuck in my head and I can’t get them out.
I know I know I’m just saying from what I’ve read up on there are techniques and certain ERP methods that can help you combat the thoughts
So lexapro helped a bit HOWEVER it made me start to not care about anything, I gained a lot of weight and I also became very forgetful, like forgetting to flush the toilet, etc. just weird things so I stopped taking it
I was prescribed Escitalopram and have yet to take it because medication terrifies me. I need to just try it to see if it works I don’t want these thoughts anymore
I have in the past and it didn’t help. But no medication has helped me, no matter what mental illness I was being treated for—and I have a lot. I’m one of the rare expeditions where my brain is so stubborn, no medication works on me 😉
I’ve had this same experience with medications. I’ve tried 7 or 8 and nothing has helped.
