I agree with you. I’m from Canada so the conversion from USD to CAD is around $220 for me :( they don’t accept insurance here yet. Money is the only thing getting in the way, but I understand since ERP is a specialized treatment which can be costly.
I'de call your insurance, be sure to screenshot the accepted insurance drop down because I'm certain that it still has it. Contact your health department to ask them about state healthcare options that can cover co-pays and extra costs. If you have the screen shot then you can dispute the cost with your bank or PayPal whomever you use and also leave a BBB complaint with an expectation of paying back the amount. The app is to blame not the therapist in this situation. However asking the therapist what insurance they accept would be of benefit. The state health department will direct you to the right source. You can sign up online for state healthcare.
Hey, I was in a similar insurance situation when they wouldn’t take Aetna, so when I called NOCD, they emailed me step-by-step instructions on how to request a single case agreement with my insurance. With that, my insurance agreed to cover it so I got coverage for sessions. Have you looked at this option??
