Anyone have tips for when an obsession is just stuck for hours on end? The severity of the anxiety isn't too high, but it's the duration of like 6 hours non-stop that makes it feel like you could jump out of your skin.
No idea but I have both at maximum intensity, running for 24 hours non stop for well over a year and a half
Honestly, the moment I’m awake I think about my obsession and it’ll go on for most of the day. My anxiety and stress levels are low, so I’m just focused on the thoughts itself now. I don’t really do anything to reduce the thoughts, I just go about my day like I did before I had OCD. It’s pretty much background noise for me now; I know it’s there but I’m not going to let it be the centre of attention. Don’t be discouraged, it takes some time to cope with but once you practice non-engagement responses continuously, it starts to become better. Take it day by day and you’ll get through it 🤍
