is it normal to get intrusive thoughts about something you’re not even sure happened? like you’re brain is saying “what if you did this in the past” and you don’t even know if you did it or not??
Yes I’ve been dealing with this for 3 months now, I was suuure something didn’t happen but I ruminated sooo much on it that it actually gave me the feeling that it did happen and my brain created a whole story of that.. it’s crazy
Insane. This is the specific OCD that I deal with.
It can happen! I’ve definitely dealt with this.
It's moreso my brain says "You found this guy attractive in the past" when I know I didn't.
for me it's more false memories tied with real events. e.g. for my 12th bday party it was a photoshoot with all my friends and the photographer told me to pick a friend to take pictures with and i chose a friend and then she said to go on the couch and pose. the first pose was me giving her a hug on a laying down on a couch. my ocd tells me its bc i was attracted to her or that i felt nervous posing with her or anyone of my friends which i know isn't true but it's more like ocd filling in false info into real events which makes it really scary bc as someone with hocd/so-ocd it's like i'm looking at past events with the glasses that ocd provides and it feels real. if that makes sense. But i totally get how scary that feels.
