Don’t wash your hair and don’t spend any time thinking about it. Just give your brains generic response like, “Maybe it did, maybe it didn’t” or “I fear that my hair touched the underside of the toilet, I don’t care.” Respond this way over and over again and immediately go back to regular life doing the things you always do. Don’t ruminate because that is a mental compulsion, don’t check physically or mentally if your hair actually touched a toilet, and definitely do not wash your hair. Sit with the anxiety even if you have to repeat the same thing a hundred times today. Slowly you will disable the false alarm. Hang in there, we can do this!
It did work for me, but I wish there was a way to lower the amount of anxiety I feel when I ignore it.
The anxiety only decreases overtime
Luckily, it is still unbearable though ;-;
