Kinda scared my throat will close
You don’t have to do anything. It’s all anxiety. You have to just accept the uncertainty and discomfort. I know it’s really hard to do. I know I can reassure you, but OCD wants reassurance and this won’t help you recover. You just need to realize two things. You can breathe. And If you can’t breathe, then you’ll know and not even your ocd will make you indecisive. The second thing is you can do all the breathing methods in the world, but if you don’t accept the uncertainty the anxiety will just come right back. I know it’s scary and I know it’s hard. But just let it happen. Get curious not scared. Observe your thoughts and don’t try to escape them. They are not real. They are just thoughts. There are people breathing and living with collapsed lungs, and they aren’t on this message board. You are because you have ocd not because you have a health emergency
Hey so i have a perpetually clogged nose as well as asthma. When i get anxious I’m practically CONVINCED that I’m suffocating. But even with my health issues i find that once i calm my anxiety it’s noticeably much easier to breathe.
