You learn what can from it and then just let it go. No matter how much you may want to, the past cannot be changed. Everyone makes mistakes and has bad judgment sometimes. Its part of being human
I struggle with this a lot. I have realized that I just can’t allow myself to ruminate on these things anymore because it’s a compulsion. When I stop ruminating, after awhile it’s like I don’t even care about it anymore.
Accepting what happened is how. This doesn't mean that you agree with or like what happened, it just means that you're allowing yourself to move on even if the feelings of guilt are still there.
