I am working on this right now as well. It's hard to say, as everyone's rituals are different, but here's what I am doing. I don't know about you, but I count the seconds that I wash my hands. This has actually made it easy for me to cut down. I have incrementally reduced the time I spend on each handwashing session, and I now have it down to 30 seconds each time. (I am aiming for 20 seconds, which is the CDC recommendation.) I used to use 3 pumps of soap, and now I am down to 1 (but sometimes slip up and use 2). This has helped a lot. I still wash my hands much more often than I'd like to (after touching this or that, etc.) and would like to get that under control. Not sure how to go about that (yet), but as long as I'm making some sort of progress, I'm happy. Hope some others post their advice here as well.
