Hey guys! This post isn’t really OCD related, but I wanted to present a film concept I made based on a game I really liked playing! If anyones heard of the game Inscryption, then you will know how much of a great horror game it truly is! Having OCD (I hope) and knowing how misrepresented it is in the media, I also wanted to incorporate how severe and impactful having an anxiety disorder like OCD truly is. In its honest and brutal form. It’s a fan-made concept so any questions about stuff I’ll try to answer, and I hope that people think it’s good 😅😅
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
INSCRYPTION (2022 FILM)
Plot: an isolated man struggling with OCD and social anxiety, encounters a mysterious video game that contains dark secrets within its files. Believing that he is being followed at every turn, the man must determine what is reality, while facing a potential coverup that may shake a major game company to its core.
Synopsis:
ACT 1: *same plot as the first act of the game*/*ending reveals that a college student is playing the game*
ACT 2: Josea Park is a 21 year old man who is struggling with OCD. His inability to disclose his condition to anyone without misunderstanding or hatred unleashed upon him has also resulted in him developing social anxiety amongst his peers, isolating himself from his roommate Jess Gonzalez, and close friend Kim McTavish.
While browsing the web, Josea becomes intrigued by rumors of a “cursed” video game that results in accidental deaths. While doing research, Josea is contacted by a mysterious user named “Carder”, who sends him a download link for the game. Initially believing the demo to be a fake, Josea eventually downloads the demo and begins to play. Sometime later after act 1, Josea has become more and more isolated from the outside world, to the point of cutting Kim and Jess from his life, much to their confusion and investigation (B-plot) ,and has been vlogging his research on the game, his daily experiences, and his increasing paranoia as people claiming to be GameFuna employees begin to watch the outside of his apartment, and following him during university, to the point where even turning on the lights in his house has become an impossibility. Josea becomes agoraphobic as a result.
After being mysteriously drawn back into the game one night by the robot known as PO3, Joo eventually finishes the second level of inscryption *same as Act_2 with PO3 ending up taking over the game and creating “Botopia”.*
Act 3:
*events of Botopia and INSCRYPTION’S deletion takes place as normal*
While the A-plot advances, Kim and Jess discover Carder’s channel, where the videos of his documentation come to light (revealing that the events of the movie is actually a sequel to the original game), the two also discover Luke’s death at the hands of “a fire” that had burned down his house. Realizing that GameFuna are responsible and may possibly be targeting Josea next, Kim and Jess hurry to head over to the apartment, only to discover Josea’s apartment breached, Josea killed, and the INSCRYPTION disk being recovered by GameFuna employee’s. Spotted, the two begin to run, but eventually crash their vehicles. The last shot is them desperately trying to run on foot, leaving their fates unknown. A post credits scene reveals that a fire has killed a college student (Josea), with two suspects at large for presumably starting said fire.
