Try not do it once every so often but don't let avoiding one compulsion let the others come back.

If you have meta ocd it sure is a compulsion

@amethyst :) Obsessing about obsessing. People who are obsessed with perfect treatment. They use ERP to make the obsessions stop not to learn about avoiding compulsions

You can deal with this without stopping ERP altogether. Limit exposures to a certain amount each day (maybe 30 min or whatever your therapist recommends) and if you have any perfectionism around response prevention (like βwhat if I compulsed without realizing?β) lean into the uncertainty (βmaybe Iβm doing ERP wrong.β)
Skip doing ERP every few days - it'll act as ERP for that one urge. However, don't stop doing ERP completely just because you are trying to stop one compulsion.
