Hi sofia02, for me it seems to be usually the worse ones, or the ones my OCD has twisted into being the worst over time, that always stick with me the longest or give me the most grief. I mean, given that one person considers too bad another may not consider that bad at all, anything can really be considered too bad to someone. I think that’s why the OCD bully tends to latch onto the most hurtful memories, or the ones with the most inherent doubt, since those are the ones it knows are easier to get us to dwell on and cause us the most anxiety. Even though everyone always says you can tell your therapist anything and that they’ve heard it all before…i have found that to be true, at least with my therapists here. If you feel comfortable with your therapist, I would encourage you to open up about which real event(s) are causing you the most pain. Definitely don’t start with doing ERP for the one bothering you the most, work your way up to that, but this way your therapist (or whomever you confide in) will have a better understanding of how to help. Just my opinion though, as when I held back from my therapist (be it my anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, etc…) I just ended up holding back from my recovery. Best wishes and stay strong against your OCD bully.
