Hi Anonymous, I’ve definitely been there. In my experience the more you try to figure out if something happened the way you remember, the more that memory tends to get more warped and blurry. As much of a cop-out line as it may sound, the best way to get past it, is to leave it in the past, try not to ruminate on it and move onward. No amount of worrying about the past will change it (trust me, I’ve tried) and false memory OCD will never let you really determine what exactly happened, it will only keep throwing more doubt at you and causing more anxiety. The best thing to do is to stop feeding your OCD and tell it “so what” if it did or did not happen that way. It’s in the past and I’m moving on. Best wishes and stay strong.
