I don't question side effects at any dosage, as we all can be affected differently by the same things. Just hang in there, weather the storm if possible and try to give it a chance to do what you want it to.

Thank you so much. If I'm able to stick with this and get results that could be an answer to prayer.

Lately for me sleep has really been the most helpful thing. Make sure you're getting plenty of rest. Try to find something to do that'll help you feel productive or dive into a hobby that'll help take your mind off things. You can do this.

Thanks. I know sleep is very important. I take several things to try to get a good night's sleep.

@Cammi Also maybe consider sticking with it, giving it enough time to work, and then you could see if it is something that could work for you longterm?

@JohnG Not sure. I'm skipping it for today.

@JohnG I tried Lamical today. I don't like it either.

If I take one drop of citalopram I get side effects. I'm feeling irritable and wish I could take an antidepressant. The last time I took that I felt like my heart was getting stressed. Scientists ought to invent a drug for OCD that is relaxing.

I know it’s common for antidepressants to often make your anxiety increase before decreasing. I’ve had good experiences with cymbalta and mirtazapine helping with anxiety/ocd thoughts. Best of luck to you! 💜

Just from my own experience, escitalopram (Lexapro) has been the most helpful for my OCD. I still get the thoughts, but they've been much more manageable for the most part.

@InABubble He was talking about Lexapro. Some say it has less side effects than Celexa. Lexapro sometimes makes me feel hyper which is why I haven't stuck with that.

@Anonymous Oh right. They sound so similiar so I kind of forgot

I took one drop of Lexapro yesterday and today and I feel hyper and anxious. Usually I can't stand the side effects and quit. Would appreciate some encouragement to keep taking it until it starts to get me better.

It does definitely get better! Unfortunately it just takes a while for the body to get used to the new medication especially antidepressants

You can do this. Keep in mind that some of it could be placebo effect as well if you're expecting to have side effects.

@JohnG I know it seems weird to have side effects at such a low dose. I do feel pretty irritable and in edge tonight. Analyzing every move I make.

I may wimp out again. This morning I woke up with a headache. Then I felt very stressed and irritable. It's hard to take a drug that makes you feel worse when you are trying to feel as good as you can.

Hey everyone, I've been struggling with severe obsession over my blinking for more than a month now (&24/7), fearing I will never stop thinking about it. It came out of nowhere while I was walking (can OCD come like this without a reason ?). I'm starting to take Fluoxetine. I'm scared it won't help with the "hyperawerness". Does someone have a similar experience and can help me ?

Is it normal that my brain is now focussing on real event or something about morality and cancel culture, and not anymore about POCD? It's like a sneaky trying to find something other that scares me. I am now week 4 of 200mg sertraline and I still feel that my system is very in alarm mode but the thoughts are not repetitive anymore.

I’ve been prescribed this but I have never taken medication and I’m really scared of getting worse? Has anyone got a positive story for this? Thank you
