Medication does this to me as well 😞 I'm seeing a psychiatrist next week for genetic testing to see if there's a medication that better fits my biology.

I had one of those. It was absolutely worth it.

I found that Prozac made me worse to start with but I improved over time. I think they suggest 12 weeks before full effect for ocd but with medication it's best to speak to your doctor

Prozac made me feel miserable. Don’t give up hope, there are a lot of meds out there and finding the right one will take time but it is possible. I’m on a hefty regimine right now but I’m doing so much better than I ever have been and bouncing back so much faster. And I notice a huge difference if I miss doses.

Me too! Like everything just feels more real. When did you start? I think I’m only on my 5th day.

I started on 20mg last month, and I’ve been on 40mg for about 11 days. It feels more real for me too!!

@Isabella Oh cool! I’m only on 10mg because I get anxious about medicine. I’m glad I’m not the only one experiencing this though, sometimes it just feels so isolating!

@Anonymous Yeah it’s crazy bc I’ve had 0 physical side effects just worsening depression and ocd. (And it’s been waking me up in the middle of the night)

It’s completely different for everyone. I’ve heard from some people that it works great for them.

I agree with @Lilith666 ..it is completely different for everyone. Everyone’s experience is going to be different. Try it out, see if it works, if not, that’s okay! If it does, yay that’s great! I’m currently on day 5 of Prozac so I’m in the same boat as you:)

@Isabella How long have you been on Prozac? I’m on Prozac as well and I’ve found it helpful, but they did have to bump up my dosage for me to find it helpful.

@Isabella That is a pretty low dose! I’m on 60 mgs and you can go the whole way up to 120 mgs. I can say I was a little sick and had some side effects when I first started. I would give it some time!

So I’ve been off sertraline 50 mg for a couple months now after being on it for 3 years. I got off cuz I was getting bad side effects from it like gaining hella weight and low libido. My anxiety has been so bad so I’m considering trying Prozac since apparently the side effects are less. What’s your experience with it/does it help your anxiety from your intrusive thoughts? I mainly have just somatic ocd

17f It's day 18 of taking 50 mg of Zoloft And while it doesn't do shit for my OCD, it's still terrible, tbh even worse than it was before meds I almost constantly feel that weird forced happiness-anxiety. I can't sit still, I constantly have new thoughts, good and bad, I constantly feel some weird energy I need to put somewhere but I can't. Like im myself am on the calmer and quieter side. Also I hate physical touch. But on meds. I'm suddenly so energized and extroverted, I'm constantly talking and also I became extremely physically affectionate which is so fucking weird. It's just like im not me anymore, real version of me was replaced by this weirdly happy fake one which is not even that happy, but OCD is still there and is still terrible.

I got diagnosed with adhd about 2 months ago, I started vyvanse and it was amazing at first. So much motivation, ocd intrusive thoughts were easier to let go and would not consume me nearly as much. But then about a few weeks ago I started noticing I was getting super irritable, anxious, intrusive thoughts taking over again. I had already gone up and down to try and tweak the right dose for me so I know it wasn’t the dose. So I stopped a few days ago, and all of that instantly subsided. I feel like I’m back to square one:( I do take Prozac, only 20mg becuase I have to slowly increase to reduce side effects but it does help me a lot. I still want to take adhd meds though because I’m back to feeling unmotivated. Has this happened to anyone else on stimulants? What did you end up having to try instead?
