I have also thought this, not so much in an obsessive or worrisome way, but just zoning out staring at myself haha. It is interesting to think that we can only see ourselves as a reflection and never as others see us.

I experience this a lot. Like I KNOW it's me, but there's something off and I can't put my finger on it so it doesn't really look like me. Look up depersonalization and derealization. It can't hurt you and it's very distressing but it's just your brain protecting itself from all of the anxiety it's experiencing.

Yes! I have experienced that before. I would look in the mirror and say my name but it didn’t feel like it was me in the reflection!

I’ve been thinking a lot about how OCD changes the way we see ourselves, but I recently realized that I am not my thoughts. Just because a thought pops up doesn’t mean it’s true or that it defines me. I’ve started learning how to see OCD for what it is—just a disorder trying to trick me—and I’ve become stronger in dealing with it. Has anyone else here had a similar realization? How do you handle these thoughts when they show up?

I have really bed harming intrusive thoughts and sometimes feels like it’s feeling! The thoughts happening every day and the hardest part is that I’m testing my self in head all the time if that’s what I am or want!!! Also, so many times feels like I’m been tricking myself and doctor or people and maybe I don’t have OCD, just that maybe it’s me really!!!! How can I know who I am really 🥹???!!??

Whenever anyone starts to feel like their thoughts are less triggering or they feel a moment of happiness/ relief OCD tells you that you want the thoughts back or you actually like having the thoughts and maybe thats just the person I really am? I feel like im going insane😢
