Yeah I have to outweigh the good with the bad and think that it will make it better and I will get through the negative side effects

Yeah and you might be one of the lucky ones that doesn't get any side effects! I call my doctor if I get worried about aode effects etc. I hear alot of people say the doctors prescribe something else for the first few weeks to help them get through the hard part whilst they are kicking in. Also just remember that once they kicked in they can help a great deal.

Exactly that’s just what I need to realize is that yes there may be side effects but I can change medication and I can get better

Also keep in mind that it can take up to 6 weeks to start showing positive results, but you can start to notice them as soon as 2 weeks. Message if you wanna talk when you start them.

No, I take Prozac but lexapro was my second option. My doctor said lexapro is more of a relaxant and can make people sleepier, so that’s why I decided to take Prozac because it’s more of a stimulant.

Does it work for you?

@OCDsuks It seems to be!! I was on 10mg Prozac for 30 days and just switched to 20mg 8 days ago. I feel like I can understand that what I’m going through is ocd, even when the feelings feel really real. It seems to be helping:)

@OCDsuks Have you noticed any side effects on Paxil? And if you want to share how many mg are you on and why did you choose Paxil?

I started lexapro 2 weeks ago. It was hell at first with side effects but they are starting to calm.down now and I feel a little calmer. They take 4-6 weeks to kick in properly so I am still quite anxious but more hopeful

I'm still getting some now. Mainly nausea and heightened anxiety and fatigue. They can make you feel worse before they make you feel better. But some people don't get any sode effects

It's worth a try. I had citalopram (uk think there another name for it) for two years and it helped me loads, I came off it 3 months ago but then my grandad passed away and I relapsed and anxiety just got so bad so I decided to go back on medication. It can be awful at first I have to keep reminding myself that at the mo as I felt awful last time for about 3 weeks but after that I could deal with intrusive thoughts etc so much better it was worth it

Yeah I know it will take time for them to work but I just get nervous about the side effects and the thought that it might make my anxiety worse and give me suicidal thoughts that terrifies me

I understand. If you tell the doctor how you are feeling and ask them to give you the lowest dose possible so it can build up in your system and then if you hate it you can ask them to switch you to something else

That is very true

Hi everyone, I’m 23 and have been on Zoloft since I was 16. For the past couple months I’ve been having panic attacks more and I’m sick of feeling like a zombie everyday. My boyfriend said I’m very sad and unhappy then when I first met him 2 years ago…. He thinks it’s the medicine. Throughout the years I have upped and lowered my medication, but now, I feel as though it’s not helping. Either it was too much where I didn’t feel emotions at all like very scary stuff or it wasn’t enough to help me. I was given 5mg of Lexapro to try…. I’m scared to take it. All I know is how Zoloft is. I don’t want to go crazy on it, be allergic to it, etc. I feel like I’m going to trip myself out when I take it and not actually feel the difference. I could really use some positive feedback I really just want to be a normal human😭

I just got my SSRI’s and I’m kinda nervous to take them so I was wondering if anyone has had a good or bad experience with them.
