Once my therapist was writing down my thoughts and said “I don’t see the uncertainty”. Most of my thoughts are very absolute but I know from experience, they’re not so there’s still a struggle. But in the moment yeah it feels like I’m 100% doomed

Yep, this is not uncommon at all! It happens to me to. Sometimes I get the “I want to,” “I’m going to,” too. Still just intrusive thoughts!

Yeah, this sucks. Especially if it's paired with urges. Literally OCD sucks. Haha, but it gets better. Do counseling and ERP for sure.

Hi I am Aisha and I am not sure if I have ocd or not but I struggle with thoughts which I don't even know if they r intrusive or if I am thinking about them and they are usually about my family or friends. This time it was about my mom more specifically a sexual thought about my mom and my mind was thinking that this is what I want and when I was analyzing the thought I wasn't sure about my intention which made me feel really bad

I’ve been thinking a lot about how OCD changes the way we see ourselves, but I recently realized that I am not my thoughts. Just because a thought pops up doesn’t mean it’s true or that it defines me. I’ve started learning how to see OCD for what it is—just a disorder trying to trick me—and I’ve become stronger in dealing with it. Has anyone else here had a similar realization? How do you handle these thoughts when they show up?

Is ocd supposed to feel like a genuine belief ? I see or hear some people saying things like « I know it’s not true but …. » while I personally don’t « know that it’s not true » I feels genuinely real and I even find evidence for it
