I cringe when I think about them but ocd jumps in and says you like those thoughts

So true..just trying to move on from it. Trying to notice that it's just another ocd moment and that it's not actually real or me

Yup. I have SO OCD and it sucks whenever I’m doing an ERP exercise, my ocd tells me that I like it and that whatever I’m feeling is true. It takes a lot of courage to accept the uncertainty

@Crawfish I struggle with pocd too, would you mind elaborating if you feel comfortable? Stuff like this happens to me all of the time and I feel so alone like no one experiences it quite like I do, but this sounds like something I’ve experienced

@Crawfish OCD is always gonna be there. But if we can accept the thoughts as thoughts, we’ll be better!! You’ll have good and bad days, but stay true to your values and take it easy on yourself

Don't panic, you're still the same girl, your OC gives you a lot of intrusive thoughts that aren't you and that disgust you and scare you and that you don't want and that you don't think are true, and your OC gives you the false feelings. Also, don't forget that whatever comes to mind, whatever intrusive thoughts you have and whatever you feel, is all yours.

I’ve asked this before and got no response but can ocd try to make you feel a certain way that you don’t actually feel? Such as telling you you’re jealous or upset in a situation when you don’t even care or feel that way at all. Can ocd cause you to feel the emotion along with the intrusive thought even though it’s not your true feelings?

I suffer from religious ocd. My only goal in life is to live in God's will and to serve Him - to live and enjoy His eternal purposes & His presence. Jesus Christ is my life. That is my only desire on this earth, this short trip into eternity, and it's being stripped by ocd thoughts and intrusive thoughts 24-7. I have read many times that ocd can 'feel real', and this is true, our minds lie to us because of fear and anxiety we can't and were never meant to carry. I have begged and tormented myself in every way to find an answer from God. I think His answer may be that this is OCD, but I'm not sure. I started therapy again because I am so exhausted and this had stolen so much of my life in a spiral of negativity, depression, and constant anxiety & intrusive thoughts. I have spent about 2 years trying to figure out if my thoughts are real or not, especially with ocd it can deceive so easily as a spiritual matter when in reality it is just a thought, which is confusing and scary to say the least. Can anyone share their experiences with this sensation? No matter what the theme is... Thank you & Praying for your comfort
