I was very honest about my intrusive thoughts and compulsions!

The call was not bad at all, just remember that it's literally their job to talk to and help people with ocd every day. They won't ask you to give them tons of details, they'll just ask what led to you calling, in general what you're struggling with and how long you've been struggling, etc. And they can answer questions you have about what therapy would be like. If by the end of the call you're ready to schedule an appointment, they can help, or they can tell you where to do it yourself later or where to find additional information about treatment.

They mostly just go over what NOCD does and ask a few basic questions about what you're seeking treatment for, honestly the free call was mostly providing you information on their services so I didn't find it too stressful

Honestly, if you have the means. Do it. Best decision ever. Take back your life. There’s no shame in getting help. You’d fix a broken leg right?

It is scary to talk to strangers about your mental issue but the person who answered was very understanding and kind. If you can't do it yourself find someone who can advocate for you to make the call while you are there and speak to them on speaker phone. That is what I did for my daughter who could not make the call on her own because she was too anxious and intimidated to speak to a stranger over the phone.

I was super nervous about the initial call. But I talked about my intrusive thoughts. The lady I spoke with super nice. Only takes 15 minutes
