It's a little scary at first but once you fall asleep the morning is much better. Keep the tv on for background noise and lights on!

I've had the sleep walking fears before too!! It's so weird that we all go through so many of the same fears! I seriously thought I was the only one! It's so so scary I know. I check the stove at least 10 times before bed and before I leave the house. Sometimes while I'm staring directly at the stove my brain still cannot accept that it's off. Or I'll go to walk away and think did I accidentally just hit the knob and turn it on? Sucks!!!

Me too!! I have to say out loud off off off for each knob but if I blink or my eye twitches I have to start again. I do notice that occasionally if I just look at stove from farther away sort of like looking at them all together like I normally would have before OCD it's easier for my brain to accept that it's off. I totally agree checking makes us more unsure its such a catch 22!!!

I can totally understand the video thing! OCD finds any way possible for the worst to seem like a real possibility!

I just have to say I'm sorry we all go through this awful OCD but I almost want to cry reading what others go through and being able to relate I've been so alone dealing with this for years!! Thank you for sharing!

I do the same I have to look around the kitchen to make sure nothing is close to the stove and the stove has to be the last thing I see or else I think I forgot to look at it even if I already did a bunch of times! OCD really is awful and most people just cannot understand how our brains work and why it's so difficult to overcome!

I am mainly worried about fires. I think I'll panic about fires for the whole week. I probably won't sleep. I'm really worried about this. I will probably worry that I'll get up in the middle of the night sleep walking and take an over dose, or I'll worry that I'll sleep walk and kill the cats. Even though I've only ever slept walked once. Or I'll worry that in the night I left the house and killed someone without realising. I hate ocd so much

Lol yes I get the same lol. Lol the hit the knob part made me laugh. I get it too I think I was half asleep or something that I was unaware that I turned the cooker back on. I have started to take videos on my phone. And even taking a video will make me re watch and say to myself, oh my hand wasn't in this place so there for I must have turned the cooker back on when the camera wasn't facing that part. Apparently the more we check, the more it feeds the obsession. Even checking in your mind is apparently bad to do. I have to say stuff like, okay the switch is pushed forward which means off, even tho it will literally say off. I have to reasure myself.

I can understand the blinking thing, I have to walk backwards away from the cooker because if I leave the room without the cooker being the last thing I saw, I worry I turned it on being unaware. Bless you! I feel emotional as well knowing I'm not alone. It is a really horrible mental illness

Stay strong! Soon our ocd will latch on to something else, let's hope it's less awful!
