I know it’s easier said than done but just give up on engaging with your thoughts and let them be. Don’t try to figure “it” out
Exactly the first couple of night and days you do it are going to feel like hell literally !! But if you just let your thoughts be you’ll eventually move passed that subtype
Bringing your attention to things in your environment or even the texture of your clothes or something you have in your pocket or a pet you can be present in the moment with helps.
I love to go outside for walks for this very reason it’s a grounding exercise for me.
