Can it happen where the physical sensation comes first like for example I’ll get the tingling weird feeling In my wrists and then have an intrusive thought like what if I cut them and then I get suppppper scared . It feels real like it’s about to happen

No not yet.i have an appointment Thursday . I’m trying to just practice letting the feeling be there but it’s so dam scary . What can I do when this happens

No I’m going to try ERP and ACT first. I struggle most with the intrusive thoughts, and I figure that meds won’t change my thoughts, I just have to learn to live with them and accept they are there. One quote I stole from the podcast was “What ever is going on in my mind is none of my business” and I’m trying to apply that to my life :)
I’m about 20 min in to the podcast and I really like it !! Thank you for sharing. I love the idea of ACT my only concern is one of my fears is depression idk if I have it or not but I’m scared if i did there’s no treatment that would help me
When that “urge” or “sensation” comes up. I just try my best to let it be there. I try not to look for a way out. I Just agree with the thoughts, like “yup it’s totally gonna happen.. thanks brain” the feeling will peak then gradually go away. It’s the hardest thing to do, but we can get through it. :)
I try that too sometimes it works it’s just hard cus I get really panicky wondering if I need to go to the ER if I’m about to snap so they can stop me

Idk why this scared me even more
I’m in the process I think I’m on week 4 or 5.. One thing that has helped me a lot is listening to podcast and learning more about ocd. I barely have intrusive thoughts anymore, it is more feelings right away, phyiscal and emotional.
The problem is I get the weirded feeling that idk what it is and that makes it worse idk if it’s depression or anxiety or if I’m going crazy or despair idk I just get a weird pressure in my eyes and the. My arms and hands get tingly and my stomach drops and my face muscles kinda tighten like by my mouth and then my eyes feel heavy like I’m gonna cry or their gonna pop out but my heart doesn’t race like with regular anxiety so idk what it is
Or I’m scared it’s a feeling I won’t be able to handle or it won’t go away And I’ll lose it
My ERP therapist told me to not say yes, or no to my OCD, but maybe... it made it easier for me, as yes had been very hard to say and maybe help as good as yes would have, as it wasn't no.

I’ve had many types of OCD, but I gained control over them over the years, but a new one has started to arise. Do y’all ever have scary thoughts about something you might do? Recently I’ll get extremely uncomfortable no matter where I am because I can’t stop thinking about “what if I screamed really loud in my lecture class tomorrow?” And other stupid stuff like that. Also, this one is kind of funny, but sometimes when I use the bathroom I pause before because I think “what if I’m actually in class right now?” I also cannot control the thoughts about past embarrassing moments. I know everyone does, but I will become visibly uncomfortable and harp on something from years ago. This happens all throughout the day. Also, does anyone else do things that resemble tics when you get these thoughts. Like when they happen I’ll curse under my breath or like jerk my head a little bit. When I’m in public I keep it low key but when I’m alone sometimes I’ll physically get up and pace or something when those thoughts happen. Just curious if anyone has had these experiences
Does anyone else get super scared of feelings of adrenaline while you have intrusive thoughts? Like it feels like it’s trying to take over your body and those feelings of anger are trying to collide and dictate what ur body does? Now you feel impulsive and on edge and you feel like you are acting on your thoughts? Like I get thoughts about hurting family and I get super scared when I get feelings of anger about them and I feel that adrenaline! It’s all intrusive and I don’t like anything of it
Does anyone else when they have the thoughts, they feel against it, but they still get arousal or tenglings sensations in the groinal area? Because this is what I experienced today and I feel like crap. This is going to be very triggering for a lot of you, but there are a lot of times that I notice things from kids. For example, there is a thirteen year old kid who looks very developed for her age, and I take notice of (and this already sounds creepy to me) her chest. Today with my thoughts, I imagined as if I were touching it, and although I usually "no no or "I don't want to do that", she is a kid, etc., I still get responses in my groinal area, and It felt very real. Even now, I feel as though I am faking it, even though I groan 😮💨 from it, and feel as though I am a fraud. Does anyone relate?
