Palpitations

So yesterday I had an appointment with a cardiologist about my palpitations he says I’m healthy just like every other doctor I’ve seen in the past. He did ordered a heart holter basically a monitor to catch the palpitations. All my EKG’s are normal I’ve had 5 of them this year so far smh. He did ordered and Echocardiogram to just make sure and it is freaking me out. All I think about is possibly dying and having heart failure even tho I just get the palpitations and no other symptoms at all. Please please be kind with your comments as I’m very vulnerable and everything triggers me.

I have PVC (palpitations) completely benign and due to stress and anxiety. It took a full 2 weeks of wearing the holter monitor before it could pick them up. You are not going to die or have heart failure. Just be patient and ask to wear the holter for 2 weeks at a time. Once I found out these were stressed induced they calmed down a whole lot!

Getting them everyday would happen if you are still anxious daily, I take daily anxiety meds which help but when I start having a lot of physical symptoms I take Xanax and it usually takes care of them

I’m on Lexapro and I take half of the lowest dose I’m going to try the whole tablet instead

Oh my god I JUST went to urgent care about the same thing. I was convinced I was dying of a diseased valve and I spent hours every night trying to stay awake because I thought I’d die of a heart attack in my sleep. Even when the doctors told me it was just anxiety I couldn’t convince myself to believe them.

I get paliptations too its common to experience it with anxiety/panic attacks

No worries! I went through the whole she-bang. Heart monitor, multiple EKGs, echo, CT scan with contrast — no heart damage at all. Palpitations are common in people with anxiety disorders and are completely benign.

I have SVT and they did pick it up. My heart goes crazy fast and I have to break it, but it’s not life threatening

She gave me hydroxyzine to take before bed though to help with the anxiety and it’s gotten a lot better. Still not perfect, but the palpitations are less constant

Yeah mine started about a month ago and I kept putting off seeing a doctor about it because I was scared they’d confirm what my intrusive thoughts were telling me

@patricia12 My EKG looked good, and my BP and HR were normal. I don’t think I really started to believe it was just anxiety until they put me on medication tho. There’s a noticeable improvement, which helps me logically realize that it’s prbly just anxiety, even if I can’t completely believe it yet.

@patricia12 That sounds like a good thing. Have your doctors mentioned anxiety as a possible cause?

SAME b/c it’s always made me feel like they’re not really checking for anything, but I do feel slightly better knowing that they’re actually running tests. I just sometimes have to remind myself that doctors do actually want to help me

Last time I went to the ER (last week) the doctor asked me if I wanted him to cut me open since I looked like I didn’t believe him

I wish I could believe drs immediately. Like, “you’re not dying” “well, thank you, sir. I’ll be on my way now.” That’d be great. But it took tests and medications and I still have an appointment next week just to get a second opinion.

The medication really did help though. It’s not a long-term solution but I’ve definitely been sleeping better

@Sav753 I feel that about believing doctors. I’ve had so many EMGs, strength tests, neurological appointments… even a swallow test. When you convince yourself of something, it can be impossible to listen to anyone, even professionals.

Bad Anxiety can give you palpitations! I went to the hospital because I was having a panic attack over it. Swore up and down my heart was giving out lol you’re totally fine!

@patricia12 My wife & I had a miscarriage and it was really traumatizing for her..she had to get a blood transfusion due to all the blood she had lost. And since then she has had the same worries you have. Checking her heart rate on her Apple Watch every 30 minutes. Taking her blood pressure if she gets a weird feeling in her chest..& everything has always been fine. You will be okay. High volumes of Anxiety at times can make you feel certain stuff physically and mentally. You’re fine I promise. I’ll pray God takes that worry from you! Have a blessed day

Anxiety

I had an allergic reaction to medicine 2 years ago that caused heart palpitations. I went to the ER and they did ECG and blood tests. All were normal. Over the past 2 years it's caused major anxiety and I've been to the ER several times..3 more ECGs and more blood tests. All showing my heart is fine. Should I trust that if I had a heart problem it would show and believe in my doctors? If I had a heart problem it would show? Want to be sure it's anxiety and not a heart problem.

Health ocd is really bad today

Hi everyone. I take hydroxyzine 50 mg every night for anxiety for about five months. I’ve been experiencing at least one heart palpitation a day so of course I went down my googling spiral and saw people say it gave them cardiac arrest? I’m only 19 but I’m so so scared. Please someone help me.

I went to take my heart rate and bp at the store and the pharmacist said i should go to a doctor because my heart rate was really high and wouldnt go down. I haven't had time yet and im at the grocery store rn and my heart is beating lile crazy for no reason and im so scared. Ive had ekgs before and other tests and there was nothing wrong
