I've called my GP twice and the first time I just hung up and cried. I called again just now but as soon as they answered I hung up again. Is there anyone else I can talk to so I can ask for these?

Studybug, asking for help can be so scary, especially when it comes to mental health treatment. I am wondering if you have a therapist that could help you talk through a strategy? I would also encourage you to consider giving yourself compassion in this situation and perhaps thinking about if it were any other issue you needed medication for would it be a problem? Sometimes the way we think about something can cause us intense distress. I am wondering if you think it is shameful to start antidepressants? I know there is a lot of stigma surrounding mental health. The truth is, just like another condition, if we need medical treatment we deserve to have it. I want you to know there is no shame in asking for help, even for antidepressants. If you had diabetes, you would probably ask for medicine for it, right? You are doing great! Keep asking for help and you will get it. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

How would you normally get to the Dr?
My mum would drive me but I don't want her to know. I also don't want to go in there and talk to the receptionist about it because everyone would hear, but I also don't have the courage to talk about it over the phone right now :(
Maybe ask a friend to take you? I understand not wanting to take the medicine or feeling like there is something wrong with you because you need them, but that medicine is there for a reason! What do you do when you get a headache? Take some tylenol. What do you do when you have the flu? Go to the doctor. My counselor explained it to me this way 2 years ago and once i got on an SSRI i started feeling more like myself again! It really helps woth the chemical imbalances in the brain
I have insurance that NOCD will take (if that made sense ) but My mom doesn’t wanna get me therapy on this app for some reason… I haven’t ate in 2 days because I’m having all these scary intrusive thoughts 😔 I’m so alone n I have no one to talk to I went to the hospital yesterday and I told them abt my fear of drugs but they never gave any advice or things I could do to end this fear :(
So my OCD has gotten significantly worse in the last month or so. Constant anxiety and I decided to get antidepressants. I will begin taking them this weekend. I think there’s anyone have any good things to say about them? A couple years ago I got a script for them took one pill and the side effects were pretty hard to deal with so my doctor told me to cut one and a half and take that for a week but I decided not to take them. I think I’m ready to give it another chance. Does anyone else have anxiety about starting medication? Or does anyone have experience dealing with this?
I know the way to overcome avoidance is in action but gosh. I just can't do anything. I'll try to collect in my wins and make at least one phone call today. It's important - dentist first? I'm incredibly fearful of the dentist and intensely don't wish to go. I also need to establish a new relationship with a doctor. Maybe I'll f* around and make 2 phone calls today. Not asking for reassurance but please wish me luck
