Health concern OCD
Does anyone on here happen to have hyper specific health obsessions? Specifically on rare, incurable diseases. I have one in particular but I literally hate even typing the word out! I’m so sick of my brain being like this!! I was doing great for months and all the sudden it’s back after seeing one tiktok comment that mentioned it.
And do you find that you hyper fixate on that part of your body ? Scanning and zeroing in on only tgat aspect of your anatomy. It’s so defeating. Such a humongous drain and not conducive to happiness. Just stealing the precious moments. Ocd really is a bully but more than that a thief!!! Just getting in between you and your happiness. Kind of like a third wheel on a date when all you really want is to be alone with your hottie… 😜 we should have a party and get all our ocds together and show them whose boss…. 🕺💃🏻 Hang in there my dear chosen ones… we are OK!!!!!

Totally!!!! My latest is hip pain Thant just had to be cancer of course…. So intrusive. Then it just invades my enjoyment of now with thoughts of distress and looking for the pain…. Oh the joys of ocd
oh yes the many joys! i don’t even have to feel sick at this point, i can just convince myself it’s lurking asymptomatic and i’ll get sick years from now. stupid silly OCD! thank you for sharing it makes me feel less alone ❤️
Oh wow...yes. I convinced myself and literally STARTED FEELING SICK because of how bad my ocd was...I thought I was suffering from a heart disorder or some sort of lung disease because i kept having chest pains and felt like fainting. I went to the ER for this once just for them to do a bunch of tests and tell me everything was normal. As it turns out, if you can think about something long enough you can convince yourself you have it and start feeling a certain way because of it. It's been over a month since it's happened and it wasn't just chest pain. I convinced myself I was having migraines and that lead to me believing i had a brain tumor. It sounds crazy to me now, but I feel you.
omg yes i do the same type of thing! went to many doctors for mine who did their best not to laugh me out bc i was being so ridiculous. thanks for letting me know i’m not alone!!
Here. Cancer. Everything points to cancer. So tired of the cycle.

Yes. Absolutely. I have avoided social media for months because I had a breakdown not too long ago thinking I was sick when it was nothing (knock on wood). It’s upsetting because it’s a never ending cycle. If I think about it, I have to pray. If I see it written anywhere, I have to pray. If it’s on the TV, I have to pray. It’s never ending and I was up for almost 4 hours one night compulsively praying. Exhausting. And not only do I worry about my health, sometimes I’ll worry about my puppies health, my boyfriend, my family, and everyone I love and care about. So now I’m praying for each individual person.
I’m too weak to even type the word out. I’ve prayed about 5 times typing this and knocked on wood about 3. Lord help me 😫🤦🏻♀️

Man, this is killing me. I’ve had very form of ocd I think from POcD, false memory, socd, hocd, perfectionism, contamination, existential and the one that trips me up the most is health ocd. All the stress OCD gives me causes me to feel some pretty weird sensations in my head and lots of depersonalization. I constantly think I’m developing Alzheimer’s, brain cancer, or really just anything else. BUT these fears get a hold of me so well, I actually become forgetful, stutter, experience blurry vision, painful migraines……. And so I get symptoms of the diseases I fear. Any advice this is killing me?🥺
Hi, im relatively new to the community. I’m hoping I can reach out and hear from some people who have health ocd. I used to have perfectionism, or “everything right” ocd, but ever since an incident involving a health issue last year, it’s manifested into health ocd. It may have exacerbated by the death of someone close to me, as it was cancer-related, and that’s what my intrusive thoughts seem to be about most of the time lately. How do you deal with it, especially when you ARE someone that’s prone to health issues?
I feel like throughout my life my ocd has taken on different forms and I feel like every time I have issues it’s actually my ocd just getting bad again. Like someone reveals the scooby doo villain and surprise it’s just friggin ocd again . My main “flavor” that I have struggled with ever since the end of 2019 has been severe health ocd . So badly that I have had countless dr visits , hospital visits ranging from panic attacks to lingering anxiety that builds up after weeks of obsessing and loosing sleep . Is there anyone here with some tips to get through this kinda of thing? I’m in therapy and that has helped a lot but I still feel like I pops up and wrecks my life every 4 months or so
