Hey!
I’m on my second day of Zoloft how has other peoples experiences been?
I’m on my second day of Zoloft how has other peoples experiences been?
Like the more I am on Zoloft I can notice thoughts and have more distance. Like it's easier (not easy but more achievable) to not engage as much in ruminating. You can kinda tell patterns sometimes clearly. Like my OCD voice has been way more direct that I can hear rather than it being more unsubtle. What I will say is sometimes my OCD tries to convince me that because I don't have anxiety that means my thoughts are really me. So watch out for that spin it will do
I’ve already been struggling with that as I have depression that causes emotional numbness and lack of empathy so my brain was like “if you don’t feel anything you must like it” thank you for the heads up, your comments honestly lifted my spirits Abit, it may not effect me in the same way but it’s so great that it’s working for you.
@Forest13 (They/she) I'm glad it helped lift your spirit a bit. Ocd is really tough and the medication has been a tool that I am grateful for. I really hope it helps. Thank you for your support! Actually side note I deal with depression too and my OCD will use my emotional state as a way of convincing me of my doubts. I'm super proud of you for getting the help you need and finding support!
@Anonymous Thank you I really appreciate how genuine and helpful you are being good job on that hard work you are putting into your own mental health :)
I agree with this! I am way less phased by the thoughts. I did get that annoying "does that mean it's really me?" moment. But that's obviously OCD too and I learned to dismiss it. The whole game becomes way more exposed and obvious. Im only on 25mg and it helped so much though the early side effects were terrifying for me (violent tremors, digestive issues, nightmares, etc.). Best of luck to you!!
@anonymous567 I’m so sorry you had that experience it must have been terrifying, I’m really glad it’s working for you now though please talk to a professional though if that experience is something you want to work through
@Forest13 (They/she) 🥺🥺
So I started to see less thoughts come through the first week but I'm now on 4 months of it and luckily haven't had any symptoms besides drowsiness (which has calmed down and now I'm not drowsy but I do yawn a lot)
Like taking Zoloft has made me realize how hard life was when my mood was not stable and especially for ocd recovery
Lol I remember when I was on another antidepressant I’d be constantly fucking yawning it was so annoying lmao
It hasn't done anything for me and I've been on it for like 5-6 months maybe? But everyone is different.
I’m sorry it hasn’t, talking to your gp might be a good idea
Hope you’re having a easier day by the way
@Forest13 (They/she) Actually the opposite of easy:(
@TheLonleyBee I’m really sorry, please reach out to a kids helpline for support, or talk to someone you trust if you need. I really hope things get easier
I’m on my 3rd day of Zoloft and I so far have zero side effects- Except really deep sleep at night. It actually feels good, knowing I haven’t gotten the best sleep in a long time.
Actually, is it a bad thing that I’m getting really deep sleep at night?
Hey this is your ocd taking over here I know I would feel similar, just try to enjoy having that deep sleep :) I don’t want to give you any reassurance, mentioning it to your gp would be great as talking about any symptoms you have can be helpful.
Resist the cumpulsion to look up your symptoms wherever possible as the internet will stress you out for no reason
I just got my SSRI’s and I’m kinda nervous to take them so I was wondering if anyone has had a good or bad experience with them.
So my doctor is starting me on 25 mg of Zoloft soon and I'm actually really exicted. I'm finally ready for this to be manageable. I know it's not a cure but I am told that zoloft is primarily recommended for specifically ocd. I'm not sure if I'm ready to start it tonight but yeah. Please do not tell me any negative side effects or anything related to nausea since I'm taking it for emetophobic contamination ocd and I don't need any opinions to make me biased but if any of yoy had SUCCESSFUL zoloft stories please comment!!
Hi hi, my therapist recommended i look into medication options to help with my treatment. i want to try meds, but im a little weary after an evil zoloft experience,, though that could just be that zoloft is generally evil lol. what are your guy’s experiences (good or bad) w meds/what did you take? i know they aren’t a sole solution but im looking for all the help i can get. thank you!!!
