Random Thought
I have been plagued with obsessions that have cause me intense anxiety and forced me to feel the need to complete compulsions to ‘fix’ the feeling my entire life. So that is a negative thing that I am only just now realising is probably some form of ocd. But on a more positive note I have also always been one to have what I call ‘positive’ obsessions over things like certain films, characters, books etc and more specifically an obsession with the details of these things but it brings me joy not anxiety. Like for example I was obsessed with tin tin comics when I was so little that I couldn’t even read them yet but I would spend hours flicking through the pages and picking up on the tiniest minute details in the drawings (if you can picture the drawing style of tin tin you’ll know what I mean). I thought it was so fun. Is that just a personality thing or is this in some way linked to the ocd? Or is it even that being prone to very detail oriented behaviour you are at more risk of developing ocd?
