Sober people

I didn’t have a drink until 23 years old. Now I drink only fruity drinks once a month or so 🤣 I don’t care about what others think. It’s not their life and I don’t care about their “hot takes”.

Hello! I’m happy you are 8 months sober! I never had an issue with alcohol ever, but I see that there is stigma around non-drinkers. I’m not really a huge drinker but when I’m with friends or at parties I feel like I’m somewhat forced to because that is what society expects you to do when you are older I guess? As much as it is fun to drink alcohol, I rather be sober. There’s so much things to enjoy in this life when you’re sober that you cannot do when you’re drinking alcohol. When I was younger I would always drink on the weekends, but as I grew older I enjoyed going on hikes and doing other activities. If people ever try to make fun of me for not drinking or having at least one drink I try not to really care about it, I do not smoke weed anymore either because I’ve had problems with it in the past and people would make fun of me and call me a loser but I don’t really care. It makes me feel better without doing that stuff and I don’t care what others think.

So proud and happy for you! I used to drink not everyday week but when I did drink it was really bad. The party life and everything is actually not so fun and got to the point where I would be embarrassed of my own actions and I noticed by intrusive thoughts feeling louder when I drank heavily once. I stoped drinking and couldn’t crave alcohol and now I drink a beer once only every like 2 months or so, I don’t crave it the taste is nasty to me and can only drink it in a mixed drink. I definitely wouldn’t go back to heavy drinking.
