Any one here with fear of getting dizzy or passing out I m afraid of dizzy and passing out and having a stroke I have headache every day I wounded if this is because something is wrong with my brain like a stroke or something
Yes I think dizziness is a very common symptom of anxiety and ocd is an anxiety disorder. When I feel dizzy I think the same thoughts…and then have a ocd spiral about it…but I’ve not passed out or stroked out yet going on 16 years with OCD
My brain won’t stop obsessing about stroke I feel numbness on my arm and leg face and I was convinced it was a stroke specially I was talking weird :( my boyfriend said you are but I keep asking him what if I m ? How will you know ? I will die ? What if I m supposed to go to emergency for the numbness on my face and arm? I m so Exhausting of my brain then what if I get dizzy? what about low or high blood pressure? Blood clots ? lungs issue? why is my vision blurry? I wish I didn’t care about my health at all :(
I suffer from this and the dizziness is terrifying for me. When it happens I just try to recognize it, and tell my self that if something was seriously wrong, I would go get help. I have to understand that if I go to the emergency room just because I’m dizzy and my brain is telling me it’s because I’m dying that I’ll never be able to stop going. I’ll treat everytime it happens as an emergency. So just stick it out. If something was really bad, you would go to the doctor. It’s soooo hard because the mind is so convincing. My advice is just don’t google, don’t ask people for reassurance, don’t ruminate on the feeling. Honestly try to make yourself more dizzy, spin around a little. Do the opposite of what your brain tells you to do.
Thank you so much for this advice I know deep inside that the dizziness is coming from the anxiety or maybe not who’s know it just so scary feeling I don’t want to feel it the more I avoid or fight the worse it get that’s why I don’t want to go to the doctor because I won’t stop going then I go to the doctor for every little thing but I m no going this time I m no googling because it give me more obsessions
@anac That’s a great way to think about it!! We can’t fight it or wish it away. It’s there and we can manage it by resisting what our mind tells us. No googling! No trips to the doctor! Just ERP! :)

@anac That makes total sense. I’ve been experiencing pretty bad anxiety surrounding death too, it seems to tie to the health ocd. I’m sorry about your grandma :(
Yes!! This happens to me often and it was really bad a few weeks ago. To the point where if I even thought about being dizzy, I would start to feel off balance and like I was going to fall over. And I actually did go to the ER the first time it happened - called 911 and all. It took me a minute to realize it was my anxiety :( I’m so sorry because it truly is awful. When it happens to me, I grab a water bottle and go sit or lay down for a bit. Sometimes I set a 10 or 20 minute timer to allow myself to be anxious and let it pass. I will say, I went to an ENT and he did diagnose me with BPPV which is positional vertigo and it’s completely harmless. That has helped me a lot with dealing with the spinning…maybe you have that. I don’t want to fuel your anxiety about this, but just know usually it is something minor.
Oh ok I completely understand yes it could be that cause by the anxiety anxiety cause a lot scary symptoms
Vertigo and anxiety have close correlations and one can fuel the other!! BPPV can be treated with PT, but for other types of vertigo the best way for it to go away, as with panic attacks and intrusive thoughts is to sit with the feelings accept them, and eventually your body will find equilibrium
@ChrissyT912 I will have to keep doing the erp because every time I feel this way I get scared how vertigo feel because I feel like a lightheaded dizziness but is like out no where headache and bun dizziness it goes away but it come back and the headache is only on my right side? sometimes I also feel as the elevator feel when it goes down and then I get headache all this freak me out because I have health ocd even if I know this are caused by my anxiety deep inside I think I have a disease like cancer or something really wrong that the doctor haven’t diagnose yet
I also have that fear especially now that I get dizzy sometimes but I always think, I’m ok, it’s probably just anxiety and allow myself to get back to earth and be present and say it’s ok
I don’t know where this fear come from first I was afraid that one I will stop breathing and I was feeling short of breath waking up at night struggling to breathe I overcome the fear with erp and I don’t have those symptoms anymore but now my brain move on into another obsession “dizziness and passing out” :( like I know I m ok and is anxiety but my ocd is like how are you sure is no a stroke or heart attack what about blood pressure? You keep ignoring this is no good you Wil pass out ;( sometimes I sucess with the therapy but is so hard earlier I felt like headache and dizziness only on my right side of the head then I got thoughts like omg I m about to pass out or have a stroke or something what if my blood sugar is low and I get really dizziness and blackout? I got scared with this thoughts I was about to have a panic attack but then I remembered is just my ocd I let the thoughts and anxiety be and I watch tv next 3 minutes I was back to normal :( ocd is a big lier
Yep, had a bad reaction to an add on medication and was convinced I was having serotonin syndrome…drive myself to the ER to be sent home diagnosed w anxiety and a pamphlet 🤣 ocd and hypochondria are the worst!!!
I hate this so so much why I can’t be normal and don’t worry about my health constantly like I have harm and other type of ocd but I successfully overcame them with erp they don’t affect me I get harm thoughts about hurting my mother in law and laugh at them don’t even make me anxious any more the only type of ocd that affect me is health I do sometimes get really anxious if my house is no perfectly clean but with the therapy I m back to normal with health I can never win is so exhausting I feel so depressed and sad about my self I also feel embarrassing when doctor tell me again is just anxiety but is like I can’t control this is a disease mental disorder they look at me all weird everybody know me at the hospital they probably talk so much about me is crazy I m afraid to go to the hospital ever again for anything that I think is a disease because I m afraid they will send me to a crazy home :(

I’m trying so hard not to post on here because i know it’s a compulsion. However I’m just so beyond scared. And this is health related and i know most of you are going to say you need to see a doctor or something along those lines but I’m just wondering If others have experienced anything like this and how to overcome it. I’m so beyond scared of having a brain tumor. Like it’s taking over my life. I’m scared to death of having a seizure because i know seizing is apart of brain tumors. I honestly don’t know what to do at this point. I keep feeling pains and sensations in my head particularly on one side. And because i know that brain tumor pain is normally localized in one spot i am freaking out. My mind keeps telling me “what if you are forgetful” so i keeps repeating my name, where i work, families names, etc to make sure I’m not in confusion and forgetting things. My eyes keep twitching, i am anxious 24:7. And normally being anxious would make me feel better in a way but now I’m scared to be anxious because anxiety could be a symptom of an underlying brain tumor. I don’t know what to do. I’m to scared of going to the doctors. What if they tell me i actually do have a tumor. Would i want to catch it early, of course i would but i am wayy to scared. These pains in my head are so beyond scary. The only thing making me feel somewhat okay is the fact that they come an go (and sometimes all over head as opposed to one spot) Like this morning i was fine with no pains but now they are here and I’m sick to my stomach. I’m also scared of feeling any nausea or stomach cramps because i know that vomiting is a sign of a tumor. And This morning i woke up with intense intense anxiety and i literally had a vision of me in the hospital getting a tumor removed. And it was beyond scary 😭😭😭
Does anyone have health anxiety fears around heart attacks, strokes, seizures, etc. basically fear of passing out or dying suddenly? Do you get physical symptoms such as headaches, chest pains m, lightheadedness etc? What has helped you?
Someone please give me some advice or at least tell me that this has happened to other people. As of a couple weeks ago i can hardly do anything without feeling lightheaded or like I’m in outer space and i don’t even know my whereabouts or my name. I’ve been doing my best to hide it from People I’m around because i don’t want to seem like anything is wrong. Although i might come off fidgety which will make it seem like something is wrong anyway. And i know I’ve felt this way before but i don’t know how i got through it, i think it just disappeared because of a new fear which was way worse( ex. Brain tumor, cancer, etc). And so the lightheadedness just went away. But now it’s back and i feel like it’s the first time I’m dealing with it which is so scary. And when i tell you i can hardly do anything i mean like anything. The only time I’m truly comfortable is at home sitting on my couch. Like i can’t go to work without panicking. I can’t do my weekly baseball game without panicking and feeling on the verge of passing out. And now i have a game tomorrow and I’m literally picturing myself passing out and now i don’t want to go 😭 and I’ve never passed out for no reason before so now I’m just nervous that one of these times it’s actually going to happen. I can just picture my eyes rolling in the back of my head and being in an ambulance 😭 please tell me other people have felt this way
