My girlfriend broke up with me

We’ve been together for almost 4 years, we’ve lived together for a year. And she broke up with me, over text, while in another country. She’s coming back this month and then leaving to another state away from me. Completely unexpected and I’m just left heartbroken and confused. I’m so angry at her but also so sad? I’m just confused why she would do this and why in this way. I’ve been crying all night and just feel alone. I’ve never had to deal with my ocd alone, she was my only best friend and supported me a lot. I hope I can deal with ocd alone, I’m just scared of being alone and losing my best friend…

I’m so sorry this happened. What an awful way for it to happen. I can only imagine it was very difficult for her to come to this decision, and maybe she was just not strong enough to do it in person. Perhaps this could also be an opportunity for you to face your OCD yourself, ultimately to become a better partner in the future because of your ability to work through it alone. You can do this!! However when you feel you can’t, know YOU ARE NOT ALONE! You have this community and you can always seek help from others on those really tough days.

@Deb1111 Thank you for your support. That’s another part I’m confused by. She didn’t say this is hard for me or really show me any empathy or emotion which made it hit harder. I’m ready to take on ocd alone just scared for the journey.

Remember you are not alone we’re all on here to help each other if it’s meat to be it will be… I have the same issues as far as someone breaking up with me then my ocd flares up but just think of who you were before you met her and how you dealt with your ocd…. It’s ok to deal with this by yourself but remember you are not alone… never feel like you need anyone to help with your ocd.. I had to figure that out because I always thought I needed someone to maintain my ocd when I can talk to my therapist or my mom.. and don’t get me wrong you can talk to a friend about it or girlfriend but at the same time you can do this by yourself

Hey Kyle, Man that gotta be tough with what you are dealing with. Mere words can’t heal the wound in your heart, but take the time to grieve, don’t let this stop you and you will succeed. My best friend had this happen to him, his girlfriend also broke up with him and he was devastated, but what he did I observed was crying it out, talking to a trusted friend, and after time has passed where you healed from your wounds appropriately, you can find yourself a new partner. Your intrusive thoughts may take advantages of this in the coming weeks, but fight and I mean fight through it, grieve your old self, be reborn and take the world as your oyster. I'm so sorry, Kyle. Her doing it via text, might mean she's not strong enough to do it in person and her not showing empathy might mean, she needed to distance herself emotionally, so she could follow through with the break up, yet after four years breaking up like that is very rude and disrespectful, but I'm sure, she couldn't do it any other way. As the others already said, you will heal. The man I thought was my soul mate dumped me via text, too. I never heard his voice ever again. I told him off for it, I raged, but he had cut me out emotionally, there was no getting through to him anymore, but a few months later I realized, we were not meant to be and I'm totally okay that he is not part of my life anymore.

My boyfriend of almost two years just broke up with me. I’m hurting a lot and the ocd has skyrocketed because of it, especially since I haven’t been feeling the best already. I also always have a physical reaction to stress, and have been dealing with feeling sick all night. Does anyone have any tips or advice for how to deal with this?

I can’t stop crying. My partner has been very distant. He just admitted he has pulled back because of how bad my ocd has gotten. I found out he was seeing his ex behind my back and has been lying to me to push me away because he can’t handle how bad it has gotten. I feel really sad. And I’m at a really low place. I feel like no one will love me because of the ocd. The one person I trusted and was vulnerable with just told me that my health condition is making him takes steps back from me. I’m extremely codependent on him because of the ocd. I feel so scared to be alone and battle this alone.

Break With GF is Driving me insane

I’ve never tried posting in this community or any online community for that matter, but my girlfriend of 8 years just told me she wanted to take a weeklong break 3 days ago. I know a week isn’t long and I believe everyone deserves space when they need it, I’ve been trying to give it to her. We’ve still ended up texting everyday (I made a rule with myself that I’d only text her if she texted me, so that the space is there if she wants it). These obviously aren’t our normal texts, the coldness and having to pretend this isn’t my other-half of 8 years is killing me. I haven’t been diagnosed with OCD, but I’m almost positive I have rocd reocd. Ive been the type to make up problems in my head and obsess over them until I have to share my thoughts with her, this usually upsets her and we have a fight. She’s amazing, and I’d do anything for her, but shes not the reassuring type when I’m panicking about our relationship (not that that’s her responsibility). I have this awful feeling that when we talk about it after this week, she’s going to ask to just be friends. For some reason I just can’t do this, I can’t keep conversing this way with the woman Ive planned my life away with, I can’t keep living in this hell. I know that my delusions will get better once we move in together as they completely go away when we stay together, but I can’t help but feel that she’ll doubt this and want to break up anyway. As dramatic as I feel saying this, these last few days have been torture on my heart and mind. I can’t eat, and when I do I throw up and dry heave, I’ve lost 10 pounds in 3 days. My whole day is filled with random panic attacks and an inability to remain present and focused for more than 5 minutes. The panic attacks get much worse at night, not allowing me to sleep, and I just keep fearing the worst and obsessing over what I’m going to say or do to show her I’m serious about making this work. I’ve contacted two counselors and am meeting with one tomorrow, but I just don’t know what to do right now. I really appreciate anyone who read all this I just needed to put it somewhere.
