You have to stop focusing on naming every theme you have. All themes are treated the same way, always with erp

@Beatheocd It’s so annoying and frustrating I know people notice, they’re probably like what is she looking for lol i have t tried ERP yet so I’m hopeful hang in there my brother tells me “ if you hit someone you’ll know” sometimes I repeat it to myself it does work all the time but 🤷🏼♀️ I try

@Beatheocd Since 2017 so 5 years now, how about you?

Yeah I’ve done that so many times. I’ve also tried to get someone to come with me so they can be on reassure me. It’s crazy how real it feels. I sometimes think I’m making it worse by going back and checking or constantly looking into the mirrors. I just wish I can be normal and not think about that stuff

I had this these last year. It also tried to get me a few months ago but I was able to get it under control before it got bad.

What did you go through?

Afraid I had hit someone and not remember it. Having to constantly check my car for damage. Looking up hit and run on Google any where I had drove. Got to the point I quit driving for a while. If I would hot a bump or something I would have to turn around and go back and check.

That’s what I’m exactly going through. It’s so hard.. so frustrating. How did you handle it ?

I just had to constantly remind myself it was my ocd. I had to make myself get in the car and drive even if it was just around the block and stop giving into compulsions.. like checking the rear view mirror, checking my car and stuff.. it was definitely hard

Yes me too, I would take an Uber just to avoid driving, I’d clock in and wait to see if my supervisor would say anything when I’d be late, i completely understand what you mean it’s exhausting not to mention the amount of gas that gets wasted from circling all the time

Me too I agree -when I circle around I make it worse sometimes because I start questioning every street , I end up going down streets I didn’t even need to drive down so instead of circling two blocks now it’s four! Just try to tell yourself logically if you hit someone you’d really know, you’d have damage on your car you would hear the person scream most likely, at the very least you’d have a broken mirror that’s what im trying to do it’s not a great solution but sometimes im able to get home without completely going crazy

I'm really struggling to figure out where my OCD ends and where I begin. I’m scared of most things—not in a panicky way, but in a deep, cautious, worst-case-scenario kind of way. Example: I haaaaaaaaate my spectacles. I’d love to do Lasik, or even just wear contacts, but the idea terrifies me. I’ve heard about the tiniest risk of blindness or infection, and once that thought is in my head, it takes over. I picture the worst, and then I don’t act. TRIGGER Also Lasik involves cutting TRIGGER which petrifies me. I’m stuck between wanting change and being too afraid to make it. The same goes with wanting to travel but being scared I'll be trafficked or someone will plant something in my bag & I'll get arrested overseas. No amount of praying will fix it. Does anyone else feel like their OCD makes them freeze in everyday decisions? Like you can’t tell if you're just being practical or if it's the OCD gripping the steering wheel again? Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's not OCD but my personality, that's what I'm trying to figure out.

Hey guys just wondering if anyone suffers from this type of OCD. I feel a big struggle to even begin things because it doesn’t feel right or if I resume things it doesn’t feel right. Anyone have any advice ? Thank you
