this is so cute. i recently started climbing and planning to continue it !! my friend wanted me to do it with her and after her asking me 128272727 times i finally did it and i love it so much. i also really love watching movies, my favs are def Studio Ghibli films, they’re so comforting. when my days are bad, i watch them to feel better :) what are your interests??
@noreassurance omg climbing !!! im afraid of heights 😵💫 but that seems so fun !! maybe I have to step out of my comfort zone and try it one day !! OOHH I LOVE STUDIO GHIBLI MOVIES 😭 My fave is Howls Moving Castle <3 I love to sketch (even if I'm terrible at it) and I want to start getting into playing the violin ! I needed this! One of my favorite hobbies would prolly be gaming hehe. It’s truly something relaxing and makes the day so much better for me. I also grew up on anime and I also live on the countryside, right? Well I’d always love watching fantasy anime cuz it always fueled my imagination with so many exiting things and made where I live so much better/prettier haha. It sounds kinda strange, but it really did^^

Oohh another anime watcher I see 🤩 Natsume Yuujinchou looks so cute 🥺🥺 might need to give it a watch ! Currently right now I'm watching Jujutsu Kaisen with a friend, it is hard to line up our schedules to watch it together but we will finish... hopefully LMMAAOO I also suck at finishing animes though. I used to enjoy collecting action figures but now there’s too many and I’m looking to unload some of them. But I still love playing my vinyl records. On turntable mixologies. ✌🏽

I love collecting retro games from the 80s/90s/00s. I love gaming because I'm physically disabled so doing sports and stuff didn't go over so well. So I got into gaming. I also create games for fun. None of them are really good right now, but my goal is to create a story that's amazing like Metal Gear Solid or Mother 3

Drawing and videogames! I got in to videogames because my dad used to play them with us when I was a little kid and I thought to myself that someday I'd be as good as my dad (who no longer plays videogames) but it was like my bond with him when I was younger. I got in to drawing in highschool because I was bullied so much in the cafeteria (people throwing food at me and having to sit alone) that I started eating my lunch in the art room saying that I was just there to "get some extra details in" on my projects. It was all just to avoid the harassment to be honest, but I eat pretty fast and ended up having tons of extra time to put in to my art and became pretty good at it! They're both just hobbies now, I've done side work before like making logos for some friends and designing my own cards for birthdays and what not. OCD has made these things difficult to enjoy, like I don't deserve the peace of mind to enjoy them but I'm slowly getting back in to it and forcing myself to do the things I value instead of self-punishing.

Hobbies! It's important to have things in our lives other than OCD, which bring us joy, calm us down and can provide a good way to redirect our attention away from obsessions and compulsions. I'm curious about your hobbies and interests! I enjoy painting and learning languages- I reached B2 in Swedish and am starting on Korean. I love to follow artists on YouTube who show their methods step by step and try them out. I also decided to learn more Python (programming language) and brush up my C++ in order to work in software development and eventually data science, so I am making a plan to write some code every day. I find that redirecting my attention to these hobbies when I'm anxious makes my OCD symptoms reduce and ensures that life isn't entirely passing me by even though I struggle to be social.
This thread is for anyone who wants to chat with me about their nerdy interests! I'm really into Nintendo games and animation. Would love to meet some other people here who can relate, maybe we can exchange our Switch friend codes and play online sometime! I know this app is for OCD treatment, but I really want to use this platform to connect to people and make new friends. We all know how difficult it can be to engage in conversation with others when we suffer from intrusive thoughts, believing they would hate us if they knew what goes on inside our heads. We're all here for the same reason, so that barrier of entry is gone. We don't have to worry about hiding our "deepest, darkest secrets" because that ice has already been broken. As someone who also suffers from social anxiety and spends most of my time in isolation (I only have one close friend I talk to regularly--I fell out with my three best friends in the past year, which has been incredibly difficult) I think reaching out and connecting with others is instrumental in my recovery process. So, this forum is purely for people who want to be friends and talk about our hobbies and interests! While I'm hoping to find some likeminded gamers and artists, I'd love to get to know you regardless of what your hobbies are, so feel free to share your interests even if they're different from mine! I hope this doesn't violate the rules of the app or anything, but I really wanna keep the discussion on mental health to a minimum in this thread, if possible. I just want this to be a fun space to share what we like! Exposures are an essential step in the recovery process, but that doesn't mean our goal should be all work and no play. Let's just enjoy ourselves here and tell OCD once and for all that we don't have to take everything seriously! Tell me what movies you like, what TV shows you're watching, what video games you're playing, what projects your working on! Just be sure to make it FUN!!! 😁😁😁
