Remember the good days! Good days are nice because they show what is possible. With OCD it is tempting to think that good and bad days just happen, and we have no control. This is true in the sense that you cannot know what may trigger on a given day or what you will have to face. At the same time, we have choices depending on what the day presents. I appreciate your comment and would just add that how you approach adversity is within your power, although not always easy. As much as it hurts, we can learn more form the bad days as the good. I do not want to give the impression that you need to always feel great, in fact I endorse the opposite. Sometimes we are just not having a good day and can sit with yucky feelings and uncertainty. For that day, maybe that is a success. I wish you well on your journey.

You can get to a place where the good days outweigh and outlast the bad ones. It just takes lots of practice of ERP. It will come with time. Hang in there.

I am so happy that you’re able to have some good days!! ❤️❤️ I wish I had a more positive side towards my good days. Although I don’t I feel nervous when I feel okay? If that makes sense I don’t appreciate them enough. I’m so scared to feel okay. I feel guilty when I feel okay. Does anyone have tips for that?

Thank you so much for sharing what you are going through. With OCD, triggers are constantly coming up, and they are very hard to avoid. ERP (exposure and response) therapy has been very helpful for me. With ERP I've gained a lot of tools to help me deal with the thoughts and minimize compulsions. Are you in therapy with a trained OCD therapist or NOCD? If not in therapy, please consider reaching out to the NOCD care team.
