Maybe you can step into that uncertainty of not knowing how the phone call will go.

So far I have had a good experience but have your insurance card so you can know right away if you are covered before your appointments. Ps counseling is via zoom and in person is available depending on your location if I remember correctly…

I totally understand how you feel. I just had a call with them and really all they ask is what type of compulsions you’ve been having. You don’t give any detailed story just things for example, I check things over and over or I have mind compulsions. When you book a call with them there be a small questionnaire thing that will ask what your reasoning is for booking the call. I booked the call to get more information on NOCD. I asked questions that I have or concerns, for instance their privacy and confidentiality policy. They help set you up and schedule you with a therapist that is available the soonest and that is best fit for your time. They send you links where you put in you insurance info which will check your eligibility. They are very nice and very helpful. I hope that was helpful for you!

I was anxious about it too, the first time I scheduled a call I chickened out, but it ended up being so easy when I did it later. They are nice and ask for just a few basic pieces of information.

They will definitely guide you through the call as they ask questions so all you have to do is answer them as honest as you can. They might ask about your OCD but you can just give a brief explanation. Mine was along the lines of “I haven’t been diagnosed yet but I strongly feel like my symptoms fall under OCD… so I just want to find a therapist to help me navigate through that.” They might also ask you where you heard NOCD from. They’re all simple questions but make sure your insurance card/info is ready as well, and A payment card if needed but i think that’s when you’re already setting up an appointment. If you have specific questions, try to list them down so you know what to say.
