When I was in an extremely bad episode I “couldn’t eat.” My anxiety was so high it made me sick to think of eating. But then my therapist said to me, so is it that you “can’t eat,” or that you’re now having anxiety around eating? And that’s all it is. You can eat, you’re just now anxious about eating. A viscous cycle! You CAN eat, you DO have an appetite, you’re just so focused on your thoughts that you’re ignoring your bodily sensations. Hope that helps. You got this

Start by being good to yourself. I suggest finger foods (mozzarella sticks, potato puffs, etc.) followed by your favorite flavor milkshakes and a slice of apple pie. I’m hoping this helps you get back an appetite, even just a little. PS I posted this suggestion a few weeks ago: Vanilla yogurt with peanut butter mixed with oat milk and scoop of plant base protein powder 😋

When I had an intrusive thought while eating my favorite take outs, I literally stopped eating :( I stopped enjoying the food I was just craving for. I hate it. I engaged with the thoughts too and it led me into a spiral. I just feel so anxious sometimes and lose all energy to eat and sometimes I even feel like throwing up. Sorry you’re going through this. I didn’t even know OCD can have this effect on our bodies.
