Is it important to have a psychiatrist who specializes in OCD or is it okay if they have a “fair” amount of experience treating it as a generalized psychiatrist?

My therapist who is specialized in OCD is the one who recommended my psychiatric nurse practitioner. The PNP doesn’t have specific ERP or OCD training but knows enough to be able to recommend meds. Hope that’s helpful!

I had a psychiatrist and she did not know what she was doing in regards to OCD… I would suggest asking about ERP if they know what it is
