Hi! I recently started meds for ocd, lexapro 10mg, and I was wondering how long it took any of you to start to feel better? I've noticed recently there's days I feel good and the thoughts aren't as loud so I get hopeful but then the next day it's bad again :( I would love to hear everyone's experience on meds!
Hey! I’ve been on 50mg of Zoloft for 5 weeks now and I only notice a slight decrease in my anxiety like I’m not getting anxiety attacks but I still feel anxious a lot and it hasn’t helped my ocd tbh and some times it’s hard to stay positive but I’m hoping starting erp this week will help me. Otherwise I gotta try another medicine or up my dose which I don’t really wanna do
@Anonymous I’m on Zoloft too! It takes about 6-8 weeks to kick in but your dose is relatively low so that might be why it it’s not doing much rn. Since you don’t want to increase your dose it’s best to come off of it if it doesn’t improve your symptoms. There’s other alternatives but ERP is the best thing that can help you with your OCD!

@blazed Maybe I’ll go up to 100. I feel like o don’t wanna get off cuz I also had bad physical anxiety symptoms before but it’s not as bad now
@Anonymous Yes give it a try! My symptoms weren’t as bad when I took 100mg so it may help you more too
Hi, when i first started my Lexapro on 10mg i didnt feel better till after 4 weeks. It started with getting my appetite back and less anxiety attacks. After 6months i began to have panic attacks so they recently up it to 20mg which he told me that it would take awhile for it to get better again. Same with the intrusive thoughts. Soo im giving it time and trying to not let it make me feel like it isnt working since it does take time
(25f) Before I was diagnosed with OCD I tried Lexapro (wasn’t bad but wasn’t great) and Citalopram (partially think it was a part of what caused me to develop severe anxiety that ignited my once not so active OCD.) After diagnosis tried Effexor and didn’t see an improvement. Was on Adderall for a good amount of my life and mentally did good on it, stopped about 2 years ago because the physical side effects started to become more noticeable. Maybe I go back on Adderall? Maybe SSRI’s and I aren’t a great fit? Anyone taking other medications that helped?
I just got diagnosed with ocd and she suggested I think about taking lexapro for it. Has anybody tried that and does it help at all?
I was diagnosed with OCD and I started Prozac 10 days ago. I have struggled with intrusive taboo sexual thoughts for 12+ years (I’m 24) but now I feel like it’s turning into feelings. I’ve never done anything to anyone or nor do I wish to ever. I am just scared of my own brain if this is something I actually want. My psychiatrist said I should feel better/start getting clarity after 2 weeks. But I keep feeling worse and worse. Anyone else has experience with Prozac and how it went for them?
