It’s good to know that I’m not alone, a lot of the things you guys are going through I am as well. Ocd is such an isolating disease making you think you’re the only one going through it

The last 8 months have been a hell for me. I have had intrusive thoughts about hocd. At the moment I even have a crush on a girl who I can't stop thinking about bc she's perfect. But I still keep having thoughts about being gay, it's just so annoying. Earlier when I saw a men good looking, I toke it as an example, but now i get very anxious and my mind tells me my thoughts are true. Can you relate??

you’re not annoying!! we’ve gotta be there for each other, but asking for reassurance won’t really help your ocd

I have had the fear of being gay, along with attraction feelings when I see members of the same sex. Right now I’m not getting the fear but I still get anxiety when I see a certain girl or hear any hung about homosexuality

an intrusive thought is a thought that is always stuck in your head. if you have ocd then you obsess over it and form either mental compulsions or outer worldly ones.

Yeah, it sounds like those things are anxiety triggers for you. If those triggers are different from your OCD triggers, that also happens.

Yeah, that’s totally normal! When I was younger and my mom would flat iron my hair, I would always be scared that she’d drop it on me. She never did, but seeing flat irons still gives me anxiety today. Sometimes we just associate things or people with bad feelings, whether something actually happened or not, especially when it comes to OCD.

Pocd must be so much harder then hocd because at least being gay isn't immoral your so strong you'll get through this and one day you'll laugh at it

But I only get anxiety when I’m triggered and there isn’t a thought there
- Date posted
- 6y
what do you mean by triggered
- Date posted
- 6y
When I see a certain girl or when I hear anything about lgbt
- Date posted
- 6y
that sounds the same as getting anxiety about thoughts, i’m not sure what to tell you
- Date posted
- 6y
And when I did get the fear it wasn’t a question or statement, it was just an idea/fear
- Date posted
- 6y
hm, idk dude. it doesn’t sound like anything but anxiety but i’m not a professional what so ever. do you have a therapist that can recognize ocd?
- Date posted
- 6y
But this is just anxiety on its own when I get triggered
- Date posted
- 6y
It was the fear of being gay

i don’t have the same type as you all i can say is that it sounds like you’re really struggling so take a deep breath and calm down. talk to your therapist or someone you trust, it’ll be ok

- Date posted
- 6y
That’s what I mean

But it’s more an idea because it’s not a question or statement
- Date posted
- 6y
There are absolutely such things as anxiety triggers! Your anxiety triggers might just be the same things that trigger your OCD.
- Date posted
- 6y
The intrusive fear would just occur randomly. But I only get anxiety when I see a specific person or hear about certain things
- Date posted
- 6y
Yeah. It happens because I have homosexual ocd and at the start I used to get images of myself being sexual with that girl. So does it make sense that I would get anxious when I see her, even without a fear in my head?. I also get this anxiety when I hear anything about homosexuality
