My OCD doesnt fit into any of the 'topics' mentioned in this app. I believe I have OCD as it seems to be genetic and also through lack of control that I had during childhood. What I have is repetitive thoughts, for years I have had the same one and I give the thought too much attention sometimes. I believe its spurred on by general anxiety, looking for a new job etc. Another thing I do is repeat all the food I have eaten in my mind. I will do that everyday. I love food and dont have a problem with it, it just seems to be a habit and a go to repetitive thought for my brain. I am a healthy weight although love a bit of junk food here and there...the repetition of food that I have eaten does not lend itself with a bad relationship with food in any way. Its worse when I am tired/stressed or generally anxious. I would like to know what category I fall into. Any feedback greatly appreciated

* I also definitely obsessively check things, as a physical compulsion

This is definitely An OCD thing to my knowledge. I get what you mean though, I feel like my thoughts don’t generally match to anything either. Mine has a lot to do with sexual thoughts of animals. Which doesn’t seem like it falls into a specific group. Even in that yale havard test thing that isn’t an option for obsessive thoughts. This leading me to think I am into bestiality. Which I hope to God I don’t have.

Sorry I didnt realise I made that post on your thread. Let yourself off the hook with the sick day, we all do it. I did it a few weeks ago, I also had a bad stomach but generally I just needed a day off for my mental health

What I have learnt is that the content of the thoughts arent specifically relevant/true, its just a coping mechanism for your brain to distract you away from things that are actually making you anxious.

What counselor told you to have sex as a way to get over OCD !?!? That is the weirdest thing I’ve ever heard! Thank you for that though I don’t know, its a lot worse than what you did
