People who say I have OCD because I am so organized!! They have no fucking idea what we go through! "Oooou I have OCD" Stfu!! Lol you could not last a day in our shoes! To be here today means we are strong and fucking amazing!
People like having 'OCD' untill they actually read what it's about, then they'll understand that it isn't a game. Qe suffer every hour( or more) with chronic intrusive thoughts telling us what we are and what we are not. Our OCD brains love bullying us to no end and it will do whatever it takes to make you anxious and stuck in analysis paralysis. So the next time someone Says "I'm so OCD" just show them a list of common OCD themes and ask them if it brings them intense anxiety spikes and intrusive feelings and urges. Sadly though, I know they won't understand because most people still think OCD is an adjective. And I agree, they have NO idea what it's like to get triggered not just externally, but intrinsically as well, which make it kinda impossible to avoid triggers. And on top of that, ICD can latch onto ANYTHING and turn it into an obsession. And let's not forget you can have more than one theme going on at the same time, which means multiple intrusive feelings and urges switch up on you depending on hem theme(s) you're going through. And for the cherry on top, OCD themes in a general sense take moths to recover from, only for a new one to pop up if your not doing ERPT or meditation (which helps me). So no, 1) you DON'T have OCD if being clean is not a result of fear something bad will happen to you or someone you really care about, 2) you don't need therapy or anything similar to help you engage less with your obsessive intrusive thoughts, and 3) you don't have anxiety spikes or experience yhe backdoor spike, which is I the most ANNOYING part about recovery aside form the recovery itself. I hope you're having a great day, honestly, because it is hard and its not fun having your emotions manipulated by the OCD part of your Brain, I remember crying so much because the thoughts kept coming one after another along with the feelings; it all felt so real it was scary. That day I ahd to calm myself down by getting fresh air and reminding myself that OCD is the Manipulative person in your relationship woth yourself. That reminder helps me deal qith it and learn to let these thoughts pass by. Does OCD ends one day and you can recover from it completely. Sometimes I’m having thoughts that may be I don’t have OCD and these thoughts are not intrusive and they are mine.
That's a classic OCD trick. OCD is defined as the disorder of doubt, so when you feel like your thought are yours, and they bring you anxiety, it's obviously OCD in the works here. Your going through the backdoor spike phase. Usually this happens when you are not reacting to your intrusive thoughts and OCD tells you that you didn't have it all this time and that you actually like these thoughts, which in turn makes you relapse back into the obsessive cycle. Just remember that OCD can not only make you have intrusive thoughts, but feelings and urges too. Don't be to hard on yourself for the symptoms listed above as they are apart of OCD, not you. 💫✨️💖I hope this helps💖✨️💫
Living with OCD is a daily challenge that tests my strength and resilience. Some days, it feels like OCD controls my thoughts and actions, affecting my choices and routines. However, I am determined to take back my life. I choose to face these challenges directly, embracing each moment with new confidence and a commitment to personal growth. Every step I take shows my willpower and my desire to overcome the limits that OCD imposes on me.
I’m sure it’s been a rough few days for everyone, maybe even weeks or months. Hell, this last YEAR has been up and down for me! But I wanted to take this moment to congratulate everyone for coming this far. It’s no small feat! OCD is a killer, and it’s good at its job! The fact that all of you are still here fighting is a testament to how strong you are! We may not have the answers or explanation to everything, and that’s okay. We have to stay in the present, not the past or the future. Remember to practice being uncertain! It’s hard to remember the good days we’ve had despite all these horrible ones! There’s no scar to show for happiness, but we’ve got plenty to show for misery and pain. Keep hanging on, you’ve got this!
I know that sounds a bit harsh, but people with OCD think very differently then everyone else and we do strange things. I used to think OCD was just that we overthink to much and have compulsions to fix it, but its kinda alot more than that i realise. Like peoples lives are legit debilitated from this thing. Thats serious and i dont think others realise that. Mabye im concerned too much idk.
