Any one here is on paroxetine paxil I wanna ask a few questions please
I was on it for like 20 years
Okay it has made me gain a lot of weight and makes me sleepy so I talked to my psychiatrist and she step it down to like 40mg from 60mg which is the maximum and I started feeling strained around my head and face plus my compulsions increased abd I started getting confused please will I be stable again with time or they need to step it back up I need your suggestions And from others too and your experience and that of others thankyou in advance . although the headaches stopped and I feel more calm but the compulsions are still severe when it comes to important things and insomnia too
@mimie28 Paxil was the most effective for me but had the worst side effects. You will feel better but Paxil has the worst withdrawal effects and it took me a long time to adjust. Paxil is notorious for being hard to come off of even if you’re tapering to another SSRI. I’ve been on Lexapro and Prozac since, on Lexapro but switching back to Prozac. It’s the happiest medium for me, the least side effects but is a little less effective also.
True out of the three I've tried paxil is the most effective with more side effects
It worked great for me and is the most potent of SSRI’s. It’s been 26 years but has lost a lot of its effectiveness. I was given Klonopin to augment it at the beginning too. I don’t want to withdrawal because of the horror stories I’ve heard. The most important thing is to talk with a knowledgeable professional and try to limit how long you take the medication. Always consult a physician before doing anything.
Thankyou so.much
Hey friends, I hope you all are well. I just wanted to check in and ask people's experiences about being on medication. I have had OCD pretty much my whole life, just got recently diagnosed 4 months ago and my therapist recommended that I get on meds for it so I have a psychiatrist appointment set up. I'm a little apprehensive about getting on them, but I've realized that I do have some sort of chemical imbalance in my brain that plays a part in my OCD and anxiety. I would love to hear anyones experiences or words of encouragement. Thank you, I hope you all are well.
Medication for OCD? Hello all, 19 male here, this seems like a cool community that isn’t nearly as triggering as reddit. I have pretty severe bouts of existential thinking or fear of going crazy ( psychosis ) after some pretty heavy mushroom trips a few years ago, I know logically I should be fine but I do know what it’s like to lose it and it’s scary. Currently I deal with relationship focused OCD, it’s all day from before I even open my eyes. I want things to work out with my girlfriend badly. Also I can come close to a panic attack sometimes which perpetuates everything. Anyway, I mention the fear of going crazy because the way my anxiety/derealization makes me feel is that I’m not mentally stable cause I feel out of it or unreal. I saw that a lot of anxiety and depression medication can cause psychosis and I feel like I could use some help in getting ahead of my OCD because the compulsions are had not to give into when I’m in such distress/not knowing. Plus overall I just feel like I have no idea how I feel about close to anything. Anyone relate about that ?
Hi all! I am on Zoloft 100mg and I was hoping to get some feedback! My biggest fear is being suicidal and sometimes I’m like checking to see if I am suicidal on the medication but then I think maybe it’s my ocd. My doctor wants to go higher but I’m wondering if this is a good idea based on my thoughts. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
