OCD is not an adjective.

If I hear one more person say or see something that says "Yeah, I have OCD: Obsessive Christmas Disorder!! 😜😜" Or "OCD means Obessisive Cat Disorder! Hahaha! Im so quirky" I'm going to break someone in half and then use their broken bones to poke my eyes and/or ears out. How about we stop using a disorder that has taken lives and still does as a joke, and actually listen to the people struggling saying "Hey guys, can we please stop joking about a disorder that makes me want to die everyday?", "Hey, can we stop using a horrible disorder as a joke and an adjective?" "Hey, can you stop saying you have a disorder because you just like being neat and also calling said disorder 'quirkey' or 'weird'???" PLEASE. All of this was sparked from rage of me trying to find a pin that says "I have OCD, Dont judge me if I do something you think is strange" but all of them were just making jokes. I hate people. Ah totally agree! I don’t know how this debilitating disorder become a joke! I mean nobody jokes like this for other disorders because they realise it is inappropriate. For example there is no joke for a liver disease because everybody is aware that it is not something to joke about! Another thing that bothers me is every time when I disclose my OCD. People ask what it is and when I explain, they say ah I thought about that too! Well I wish people would understand that it is not the thought, it is the reaction to it.

It's way too common! One of my friends (who is only diagnosed with ADHD and has no symptoms of OCD) said that she had OCD right after I came out to her about it. I asked what type of OCD she had to see if we could help each other out and she responds "Type? What do you mean? I'm just OCD about things, like I hate when theres a mess somewhere." I then took 20 minutes to explain what OCD actually is and she just told me I was lying to her and left.

@Brian :) What would be a good reply to that? I’m still trying to figure it out , I guess understand at the end of the day unless if you have the disorder you don’t how critical it is. It’s also not as well known as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia

Bro, I'm going to actually fight your mom, I hate when people say that. Like what do you mean a little OCD? Imagine saying that about another illness! "Oh everyone has a little diabetes in them. Its totally normal!" Like excuse me??? Also when had making people feel invalid for something they cant control become such a big trend? Like I get that people love dark humor like "omg im so quirky I wanna unalive myself 😜" but like you will never hear me say, "Oh, one second I have to go do this compulsion that makes me feel like shit or else I wont be able to sleep at night haha 😜" Can we as a society just like chill the fuck out for two minutes and be like," Hey guys, lets stop teaching the new generation of Ipad kids that threatening to unalive on the internet for views is okay"... Im going to rant forever, I get so heated. Sorry for ranting but just UGH I UNDERSTAND YOUR PAINNN

@ArdenIris It’s so annoying like I feel like everyone around me jsut takes it as like therapy is a form of people making money and it’s making you worse. And I’m not disagreeing but like just acknowledge that I’m going through something that I have no control over it’s so frustrating, like my dad is like I wish I had your problems.
