A reminder…
Just a reminder for those who need it: you do not need your suffering or distress to be recognized by others for it to be real and happening to you. Sometimes, and especially with OCD, people may not believe you when you said you had a hard day, or you’re struggling in this season, because you appear normal and functioning. But you know what? Whatever YOU are feeling is what you get to go by. Regardless of what it looks like to others. So for the people who feel like they aren’t sick enough, or who have people in their life who don’t think they need serious intervention, if YOU feel distress and if YOU are suffering, that is all you need to get help. You don’t have to justify or validate your distress to anyone. It’s scary, and painful, and it is real.❤️
