I DONT REMEMBER IF I TOOK MY ZOLOFT

So I take Zoloft. I haven’t missed a single pill since I started it back in august. I take once a day typically at night. I DONT REMEMBER IF I TOOK IT TONIGHT and now I’m FREAKING OUT. So afraid that if I miss one dose the depression will come back. And if I take one because I don’t remember taking it, If having double the pill will cause me harm or give me wack symptoms. I don’t know what to do but I’m scared and freaking out. I used to tell my mother, if you don’t remember taking your pill, you probably didn’t take it. But like. AHHHHHH

Zoloft is a time released drug that builds on itself. If you go without it for one day, you should be okay as long as you stay consistent starting tomorrow. Maybe get one of those say of the week pill containers to be safe from now on. Try your best NOT to dwell on if you forgot it or not and just remind yourself that worst case scenario, you just need to ride out a day or two of feeling worse.

@zragon I’ve been so good for so long and I believe the Zoloft mixed with my erp has really Helped. I’m sooooooo scared of getting bad again. Really bad meta ocd. I don’t feel like I took it but I don’t want to risk taking two in one day incase I did. I hate this.

@Dj-is-trying By any chance could you count out the pills you have left and work out if you took it or not based on the fill date of your prescription? I don't know if you recall when you started using your current bottle but it may give you peace for the day. Otherwise, don't forget that despite how bad things were before, you DID survive without your meds before you got them. Being under medicated is going to be fine. You'll get back to your normal dose very soon.

I've been in this position so many times, especially when I was a stoner. It will be okay. Missing it for a day won't set you back, and I've never heard of anyone overdosing by accidentally taking two in one day. Getting one of those pill containers like zragon mentioned is a great idea. And also practicing mindfulness in this regard can help too.

@Tommygdawg I’m just gonna try to chill and not worry to much. Even though I started to panic, literally so fearful of depression coming back. I don’t want to risk taking double of the pill, so hopefully I can go through tomorrow without freaking tf out over fears and just take it at the regular time. My brain immediately is like DANGER!

@Dj-is-trying - You got this. You already know that fear of fear itself is a HUGE component of OCD. The disorder will try and convince you it's not, but you know better. It's hard right now, but it won't be forever.

I forgot my Zoloft once and skipped the day and didn't notice my symptoms get worse. I was ruminating on it pretty hard and then decided that it was worse to ruminate than to miss a dose, so I moved on. I'm not a professional but I think missing a single dose is subjectively not a big deal.

I've skipped an entire week when I forgot to get my prescription filled. It builds up in your system, so missing one day will do absolutely nothing.
