Hi! Is anyone else having issues with the billing department retroactively changing invoices? I was on an introductory cash pay offer of $75 per visit (valid for 12 visits) in 2021. This was offered to me before my first appointment. I then opted out of this offer as my new insurance ended up being most cost effective. The billing department recently went back and changed my invoices from $75 per visit to $170 over a year later! This is very suspicious and feels like a borderline scam. This is not the first issue I have had with billing mistakes either. In November they incorrectly refunded me hundreds of dollars. I noticed it on my credit card statement and immediately called them. They admitted it was a mistake and I had to submit payment again. This is getting to be more effort than this is worth.

I’m having problems with billing too! I have them all my insurance info, and I was booked with a therapist, then I was told sorry we need to book you with a different therapist. Then after 2 visits I got a weird text message on a Friday night after business hours that said “we want to confirm you want to stay with your current therapist because you are paying the cash rate because she isn’t covered by your insurance?” I was like hell no! Why would I want to pay cash for someone when my insurance covers it in full? So I called them and they said they emailed me, o looked for an email and it was on my spam. I said that they should have called me or changed the therapist like they did originally.. who would want to pay cash to see a therapist when your insurance covers it in full… NO ONE EVER!!! So now I’m waiting to talk to someone Monday on billing, and today they put the charge through on my credit card. I mean, when we already have OCD, and then they are triggering us, this really sucks!!!

It seems that other people have been offered introductory prices at $50 per session. So I know this isn’t an isolated incident.

Hey man- respectfully, these are experts in their field and very good at what they do 😅. Maybe consider switching to 30 minute sessions! Hour long sessions are 170 after the first month (or 3?)

@John E This is in regards to changing already paid invoices from a year and a half ago. I was offered the first 12 sessions at an introductory rate of $75 via the cash pay (which is now $170, but was not back then) which is not uncommon based on other posts on here by moderators offering similar introductory offers. I used this for my first couple seasons then switched to billing it through insurance since my insurance changed. This ended up being more cost effective. This is independent of anyone being an expert in their field. It’s poor business practice to retroactively change paid invoices and borderlines on what feels like fraudulent. Again, looking for input from people here, who have actually had issues :)

Thanks for sharing. I'm currently having other types of concerning billing issues at the moment. They didn't charge my insurance first, and automatically charged my credit card full price. My expectation of good service is that these issues get resolved asap. Your issue is concerning given it is an entire year later.

Ahh I’m sorry! They ended up getting mine corrected and stated it was an error on their end. They offered an intro price and then retroactively changed the quoted price a year plus later. Thankfully they corrected it but hope you get yours sorted out. Their billing department is a complete nightmare.

I feel that my doctor is angry with me

I’m feeling anxious. I sent my doctor a message regarding my test results. I still haven’t heard back from him. I know he has an assistant that answers his emails. He told me he doesn’t like emails and he preferred that I called. However with the clinic he’s in I can’t call directly, I have to call the nurses advice line. Answer a bunch of questions and leave a message or make an appointment. That’s too cumbersome! Especially when I can just send a message through the portal like I do the other doctors. Now I believe he’ll drop me from his patients list and I’ll have to start over. Is this OCD or something else?

I havent posted in awhile but.. makeup help

So i bought this product last year. The total for all the purchases was 68 dollars. It was a combination of 10 dollar products, 6 of them. Well they forgot one product and wouldn’t send me it/ it took awhile for them to respond and i got annoyed by that. I also thought they sent me expired products but it turns out that wasnt the case. Anyways i emailed about this gave up on trying to find a resolution and asked my bank to reverse the charge. Then i ended up feeling guilty because i found out the products WERENT expired (my OCD was going off thinking they were tampered old, or expired, but after some sleuthing i found out that wasnt the case. They just missed an item. So then i felt too guilty to use any of it. I thought of giving it away at some point and repurchasing or purchasing some similar but different to make up for it. Writing it feels a bit illogical now but… im wondering what to do. Because reversing that bank charge on all of those items seems ridiculous/wrong for only one item but it happened already, a year ago. I think my magical ocd was telling me it was wrong to use and I would taint/ negatively impact anything i used it with because of what i did… or is it guilt because i really “stole” more than they “stole” from me?

In limbo between therapists and feeling discouraged

I've been in and out of talk therapy for OCD-related issues for years, but it hasn't been effective long-term. I am struggling with body image / eating disorder adjacent obsessions and I am really hopeful that ERP might actually give me some relief. I had my first session with my NOCD therapist a few weeks ago. It felt like a good match and I was ready to unpack my obsessions and compulsions to try ERP for the first time. The day of my second session she canceled due to personal illness. Then this happened a second time. Yesterday all of my future booked sessions were canceled without explanation. I went to schedule with a new therapist and the ones that seemed could be a good fit are filled up until at least early April. I booked a slot and sent the therapist a message letting her know I would be interested in starting sooner if a slot opened up. I am just disappointed. I could just meet with another therapist who has earlier availability, but it's most important to me that the therapist be a good fit since I've been through therapy so many times. I feel like I'm in limbo until I have an ERP plan set up and I'm not sure how to move forward in the meantime. I'm planning try out a support group but I need a personalized exposure plan and I'm not sure if that's something I should just try to set up myself? Anyone have something similar happen to them? Any thoughts or advice would be helpful.
