Oof, insomnia is THE WORST! I experience my own bouts of insomnia and sheesh it an be rough. What I've found helpful is having a good sleep regiment.... I typically try to disconnect from any devices 30-40 mins before I start my wind down. I incorporate ambient lighting, music or sleep sounds, and drink warm camomile tea. Having healthy sleep hygiene makes all the difference but sometimes it's more than that. Try finding what works best for you whether its medication, routine, or trying to fall asleep earlier.. and maybe share your what you've found to be the most helpful?
@NOCD Therapist - Jordan Y. Definitely all the things you mentioned, lavender if you can’t do chamomile (allergies suck!!) and I love a sleep meditation! There are so many on the app Insight Timer that work well for me :)
@anxiousmollusk i’ll have to give those things a go😌
@r0s1e You got this! I also know how much the anxiety surrounding it can suck, and often when I can’t sleep I’ll just feel stuck there in a thought loop for hours. Maybe make a short list of activities that are gentle and pleasant for you as a go-to when you really just can’t sleep—stuff you look forward to that won’t necessarily keep you too awake. I often forget in my half-asleep or groggy anxious state that, “hey, might as well do something else restful if I’m gonna have to be awake “
I’m also having troubles sleeping lately only been getting an hour to three hours of sleep at night bc I’m scared about news I’ve heard on TV. But I heard magnesium is beneficial and I personally listen to white noise and that seems to help
@Morgan thank you!
