Does money buy happiness?
What do you think?
What do you think?
Agree ^ short term happiness no doubt. Longterm, money is nothing.
Yes it does but to a certain extent. Nothing in this world can make you 100% happy on its own. In my opinion money is of the things that brings the most happiness, especially if you know what to buy!
Money buys things that can make you happy
No. Howard Hughes was the richest man in the world for awhile and his OCD still tortured him. I’ve heard of people winning a big lottery and being very unhappy because everyone wanted money from them. I’ve turned down opportunities to make more money because I enjoyed what I was doing. I have not regretted that. The one time I made a job choice just because it was the better financial track I had a work place injury that lead to my OCD becoming full blown instead of subclinical and had to change jobs. Money gives you options but not happiness.
Studies have suggested money buys happiness only to the point of comfortable means. If someone is hungry, cold, in need of medical care, money can help fulfill needs, which in turn bring markedly more happiness to the person/people. However, beyond that point, there is no correlation between money and happiness.
it can pay a good ocd specialist tho
@kaio16 True. So true. But we shouldn’t have to have money to get good care.

@kaio16 I have watched his The Noise in Your Head YouTubes and found them very helpful for understanding and fighting OCD so I’m sure his site is great - I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet. I also find Shala Nicely’s OCD blogs useful.
Yes.
So I’m so bored lately I have everything I want and could ask for but I’m a dopamine junkie so I jump from item to item and I’m still bored and I have “toys “ stay with me I’ll explain … so I have actual toys like dolls and stuffed animals because I still enjoy younger things at times … yep I’m still an adult … but that being said I won’t “play “ or interact with younger toys because I feel it’s not age appropriate and I want to fit in with society’s norms … that being said I have a Xbox s I have a Nintendo switch … a legion go hand held system … a portable dvd player and I’m sure other things I can’t remember… no I don’t act like a spoiled brat and want or need for everything and I’m very grateful…. But that being said out of all the things I have nothing really keeps my attention I just impulse buy them… I obsess about buying them for months I buy them and use them for a little bit and get bored …… then I feel ungrateful for not using an expensive item or gift.:. Go back and use that item and then the cycle repeats … I just can’t find anything that truly keeps me entertained and engaged … and keeps me wanting to fool with it every day or interact with it …. I want to find something that gives me a sense of accomplishment and excitement… and game systems and whatever else just don’t do that for me … like I said I promise I’m not a spoiled adult /brat ❤️
I’ve asked this before and got no response but can ocd try to make you feel a certain way that you don’t actually feel? Such as telling you you’re jealous or upset in a situation when you don’t even care or feel that way at all. Can ocd cause you to feel the emotion along with the intrusive thought even though it’s not your true feelings?
Whenever anyone starts to feel like their thoughts are less triggering or they feel a moment of happiness/ relief OCD tells you that you want the thoughts back or you actually like having the thoughts and maybe thats just the person I really am? I feel like im going insane😢
