Struggling with doubt about the truth of Christianity and its teachings?

I didn’t have this theme so bad until recently until I got stronger and closer to God. The enemy will attack you and make you question your beliefs. I oftentimes ask myself is God real? How do I know this is really real? OCD definitely doesn’t make it easier. But keep in mind, OCD attacks after things you love the most and care for the most. I try to tell myself that things that bother me the most with OCD are the things I care most and hold the most regard to. I hope this helps and continue your love for God and sharing with your children.

I just finished watching a sermon and what I took from it is that we battle the spiritual realm. It’s scary to think but it’s true. Everything in life is a uncertainty, however Jesus is the only certainty we have in this world. I’ll keep you in my prayers. I see this as a moment for your faith to grow stronger. This might happen quick or may take a while but just now ocd won’t win.

I can definitely relate. It's ocd. I just try to connect with God the way that feels right to me and ignore the questioning/analyzing.

I can really relate with this. I left my old religion years ago, was agnostic for a while, and have come back around to Christianity. My old religion believes they are the one true church, while the new church I go to is much more open but is less strict. I constantly find myself torn between the two with obsessions like "well what if the old church was truly the right one and now I'm at a lesser church?" or even the flip side: "maybe the old church was limiting me, and this new one is where I should be." The obsessions can sometimes feel overwhelming, but I try and remind myself that faith is about walking even when you aren't sure. It has been so counterintuitive, but I've found that the more uncertainty and doubt I accept (I don't have to like it), the closer to God I get too.

If this might be a compulsion, don’t do it. BUT. it might be worth looking into some pluralist Christian thought. Many Christians believe that other religions know jesus even if it’s not by name, and we’ll all end up in the same place. I’m not Christian but I go to a Christian university and honestly love hearing my professors talk about it.
