How are you?
How are you?
Struggling a bit as I am undiagnosed but trying my best how are you
Same but for this moment I am all right.
Funny thing. I have been diagnosed for years, but just can't find the appropriate help. A little knowledge by the therapists can be more harmful than no knowledge at all. Those who know nothing about ocd usually admit it. Those who know just a little bit, pretend to be experts. Keep on trying your best. Here for you and anonymous. Enjoy this beautiful day. π
@NODA Ah thank you so much that's so true and it is talk therapy and I feel great after leaving but then I spiral again π© I think just knowing it is what I have would be a two in the right direction
@Anonymous Yeah. I agree. Exactly. As far as getting diagnosed is concerned : Well, you are here, you have found yourself in 3 different types of ocd. You know yourself the best. If you believe you have ocd, you have it. With ocd, you just know when you have it. But...do you have insurance? Can you see a psychiatrist? That is the best way to get a sure diagnosis. If you need it to be official for whatever reason of just to calm yourself by knowing for sure what's going on, you should be able to get it. Why have you not been able to get diagnosed so far? If I may ask. Anyway, I wish you didn't have ocd, but since you do feel like you do have it, welcome here at NOCD. π
@NODA I am seeing a psychiatrist at the moment paying myself as I'm that desperate to just get myself back on track , he is really nice just not giving much back I have since learning the place I am going to does so ocd therapy so maybe he is taking his time as sometimes I feel a bit nervous and holding back due to the nature of what I have π© but I am so happy I found NOCD
@Anonymous Good for you that you are seeing a psychiatrist. But if you are paying, you should pay a psychiatrist that makes you relaxed enough for you to trust him and telling him stuff. I know it's hard to talk about the obsessions ocd caused, but that is the point. You should not feel ashamed. You are not your thoughts. You are there to fight the thoughts. He needs to help you. I on the other hand am stuck with my psychiatrist. She only prescribes meds, that's it. She does not show any interest in me. I can afford to pay, and my insurance pays only for her and her colleague. No point in going to him. Both are the same. Value your money and time. Either talk to him or look for a new therapist. Sorry, I am not here to boss you around. Sorry. π€π. That's just the way I feel. Hasn't he diagnosed you yet? Why not? Big hug! π€ππ
@NODA I do agree I think the next time I see him I'm going to ask about it all and see because I need and want to get better and live normally , I am not sure why he hasn't said after our first app I asked if he maybe thought I just had general anxiety and he said he wasn't sure so I assume in the next few he might say but nothing not even techniques to help ive just been going go off what I read on here π₯Ί
@Anonymous Yeah. I know. The same with me. I can't afford to pay for NOCD therapy, they don't accept my insurance, but the community here helps a lot. We help each other, don't we. ππ. Maybe. Well sooner or later he will have to tell you what is going on with you, but you shouldn't have to wait long. You are paying. And as long as he takes the money, he should teach you how to cope. If he didn't charge anything, well ok, it would just be chit chatting, but you are paying, you need answers, and you need support. Until you get it from him or another one, you have my support and everyone else's here at NOCD, I'm sure. π€ππ
Thanks for asking. I am quite ok. I am glad you are all right. ππ
