How to explain OCD to your partner (need advice)đ¨
For anyone in a serious relationship I need some help. There has been a lot of turmoil in my relationship, a lot. We have been fighting on and on, almost always about OCD. She hates it. Begs for it to be over, and doesnât understand it at all. She asks over and over why I am anxious for no reason or sad or tired, and it is hard. Last night she told me to leave, and today we are supposed to talk because she has a lot of questions she needs answers to. I am asking for advice on what to say, as I want to be honest with her but I also need help protecting myself and not just feeding into her bc I know a lot of this isnât fair to myself either! Any advice on how to approach this? Some common things she asks are: - If you love me why canât that be enough? - Why are you sad all the time? - Why canât you control your emotions? - Will OCD ever end? - I donât know if I can stay in this relationship if OCD doesnât get better
